I agree... There's a zone where HA and CI overlap....

"accepting the HA life"... So... You are going to use a HA even when it is of no use... Impressive.... Choosing to hear nothing with a HA..... Because as long as you benefit from a HA you don't need a CI.. It's not a choice between HA or CI. it's a choice between hearing and not hearing...

Yes.. It was out of the blue that she wanted to speak English, and therefore she hadn't prepared.... Forgot the words and improvised.... But it's wonderful to see her so comfortable with a new language.. More to come...

Sorry... as far as I know, after CI, this kind of treatment wouldn't work. This was one of the reasons we considered waiting with CI for Lotte, but this technology was still in research fase... We didn't want to wait... and we're glad we didn't.. You'll have to wait for the "Middle-Inner-Ear...

Great news. When we were looking into options for Lotte (including no CI and the whole family learning signlanguage) we came across this as well. But that's 8 years ago, and it was an option for the future... Great to see that it has become reality.. Guess blood from the umbilical cord should...

Norwegian nod Swedish comes from German Languages. Finnish comes from East-european languages... Learning those languages you would not have a clue, and it's not important.... Later in life you might find out when you are interested...

Not sure if it's 60% but yes, it was all french sign. In time new gins were added that might not exist in French sign, so the percentage reduced in time.. English siglanguage is quite different from French (and ASL).. Just Have a look at the difference between English and ASL finger spelling...

It is very obvious that deaf parents put more value in deafness because of their biased deaf perspective and zero hearing perspective.

it's always the parents take take the decision. In this case they chose to let their child grow up deaf.... Lotte can also choose for herself when she's old enough.. She can choose not to hear.. Wrong assumption.. "hearing parents of deaf children" are happy to see that a decision by parents...
