    Advice for a hearing parent?

Welcome.. Cool... sign language is a great way to communicate. But fingerspelling.. The great thing about sign is that you you hardly need it... When we used signs with our daughter we used the sign for "J" for her brother, and "stroke on the cheak" for her sister"... (Have a look here at a...

Haven't used them yet.. btw.. this is what we have to protect the "emergency" battery holder: (Except.. ours will hold 3...

Reminds me of being in Italy and talking slow Italian (from the guide book to order a room) to the woman at hotel reception.. Apparently, my Italian was so good that the reply came at 100 words/minute... I didn't get any of it...

Lissy is 10 years old with her mother watching over her like a hawk.... LOL.. But it would be good to see how much gymnastics can be done with CI on your head... "handy" sounds as if you can just get one... If HAs work for oyu there's no reason to get CI...

    Implants: Bad thing?

Basically, you could do everything you do now. As for maintenance.. Apart from charging batteries each evening, or changing batteries every 2-3 day, there's no maintenance. In fact, without the ear olds and tubes that need to be clean, there's probably less maintenance, but someone who went...

    Decision is Made

....paid/spokesperson Always interesting how I never see these people in this messageboard... It's a nice technique to discredit other members... Just accuse them of alternative motives and they don't need to be believed any more.. I know there are people that are associated with companies...

    Decision is Made

True, but the overall result for Ci when the decision is taken years later is inferior to the results when the decision is taken by the parent as soon as possible. S.. The parents decision is based on logic and experience... Not on a custom... I doubt that the decision for circumcision is...

    Decision is Made

Guess it depends on the age of the patient and distance to medical care. With Lotte - age 2-1/4 - Lotte had to stay 3 days before we could go home because we lived in another town. People living in Oslo were allowed to go home the next day
