    I am loving this book...

Thanks, Bottesini? I'm at B$N right now. I drove 45 minutes to practice sign with someone and she did not show. So I have been looking for more D/d fiction and autobiographies. One thing of many I love about In 'This Sign' is the ongoing references to individual signs and ASL.

    ISY....Free Android app detects sound.

Yes, same thing happens to me. It would have also really helped in the past when my service dog invisibly whined in public but I could not tell. Great tool!

    ISY....Free Android app detects sound.

I was searching for a different app when I came upon ISY. This is beyond cool! Check out Google Play Store. I really did not think it would be worthwhile but my curiosity made me try it. I had just downloaded it and a truck drove by on our rural road which I did not hear until I saw these...

    Students Looking for ASL buddies

Hi, I just looked for the Monday night class but didn't see it listed on Google+. Even if for real beginners it would be good receptive practice which I need. I'm in New England so unfortunately I got too tired and foggy to sign at the voice-off session. Anyone else prefer a earlier sessions?

Nintendo games for kids learning ASL?

I just checked the whole nintendo site... no ASL games at all. Too bad!!! I would think that would be a great way for kids who are not part of a Deaf community to learn the basics, and have fun also.

Nintendo games for kids learning ASL?

My Granddaughter is 11 and we have always been very close. She is the only one of my extended family who has had any interest at all in signing. In the past, when she would not look at my face while talking, spoke too fast and not loud and clear enough, I would have her wear my industrial...

Skype ASL practice with other baby boomers

Hi Smithtr, Thanks for your generous offer? I see you are from Canada. It seems that many Canadian signs are very different from New England sign. I learn and practice with the many Lifeprint practice tools and my tutor here in Vt is often correcting me on how to sign different words. What...

Hi Lordgrey, I just found your reply. I don't have facetime but am going to go way outside my comfort zone and try the Google+ ASL chat tonight. Please join in... I feel like I'm decades older than everyone else who has signed up for it!

    Please Help

Hi Erin, I have a dear friend who began a nanny job for a three year old boy who did not talk at all. That was a few years ago. She began using the Signingtime dvds (which I personally can't stand) and the little boy picked up a huge signing vocabulary quicker than she did. Everyone was...

Just saw a very different sign for color 'brown'

Yes, the second version is the one I use too,and the only one I've seen. It is much like the sign for beer I think, though just moving the hand down once as shown in the video.

Just saw a very different sign for color 'brown'

Thanks, I thought I was imagining it at first, so I played it again. I only saw the R both times but assume there must have been a b first. Did you notice a B and then R? Or just R?
