I have a friend that is severly profound.. and she wears digital hearing aids and it works. I'm thinking about getting one myself, but they ARE expensive, the last I heard it was 1,000 dollars for just one. soo.. 2,000 for both... not including doctor visits, etc... hmmm. I lost my hearing a...

I myself would let my child make the decision, allow them to chart the cons and pros. As in other terms, i wouldn't implant it when its a baby, I would let it grow up do be deaf and proud.. or.. well if its what they desire, then okay.

Otherwise, the other things that have happened to you all.. I hope it never happens to me.. :cry:

I was just wondering that.. well its sort of the same thing as eternity (which u did a great job by the way!), I have a job interview coming up.. and there isn't an interpreter provided for it, and mom goes- well its too late, it wont be possible to do it.. but I'm not sure of that either. this...

Seriously? ISD fares better than other residenital schools? Can u give me some feedback at how they do? I mean, what exactly makes them do better than any other residental deaf schools around USA? Thanks-

Okay, interesting question. A deaf child.. ::sighs:: this is a hard one for me, because I myself am deaf... I went to a deaf program, which was great, great for socializing... but on the other hand, education sort of :barf: which is why I went to a hearing school, mainstreamed alone.. better...

My ultimate goal.. if I was a princpal at a school.. espesically a deaf one. If I was a princpal at a deaf school, I would improve the standards for the deaf people, try and get the standard up to as any hearing person, because.. honestly, ANY DEAF PERSON can do ANYTHING that a hearing person...

If It happened in my school... well I'd ask for questions and why they wanted to change it......... But honestly I wouldn't be the right person to ask since I'm mainstreamed, have been for 6 years now. I was in a deaf program prior to mainstreaming... but still... I could answer questions...
