What's ur experience? Did you go to hearing school or deaf school?

I'm curious from you CI users. A friend of mine did a research paper on CI and told me that sign language is discouraged because it defeats the purpose of having CI. Using CI should be associated with speaking and listening. Have you been told or instructed when getting CI?

I'm just curious. How come you are unaware about the ability of the deafs mainstreaming with the hearings? I may be wrong but it's pretty common knowledge among everyone, esp deaf population.

All colleges should accept the deaf regardless and upon request or ask those deaf students if they need assistance they should provide them. After I left RIT and a year later I enrolled at a local DeVry college, I requested interpreters and notetakers and got them until I graduated with...

What about cigarettes? They are still being sold to kids one way or another. I know there are laws nowadays forbidding stores to sell tobacco products to kids but there are some that still do so or get away like adults buying them and then bring out to give to kids. Stoopid. :pissed:

So what do you mean by allowing deaf to attend hearing schools? I think that has been going on for years. I have met some profound deaf students at RIT who told me that they went to hearing schools. Some of them had interpreters while others didn't and had to sweat it through the grade...

Actually the key to successfully enjoying full extent of college life and greek is time management as I have learned very well. :) For instance, you have class from 8am to 10am and then next class is at 2pm to 4pm on Monday. You have time between 10am to 2pm to do some studies, lab works...
