    Good alarm for deaf student

My son prefers the travel alarm cloxk that vibrates. I prefer it too because it doesn't wake ME up! That sonic boom must be for people who live by themselves! There is no way I could live with that.

Best city/town for a Deaf person to live in?

The kids probably interact if they attend deaf events in GA. Otherwise, I have witnessed no real interaction. Its like night and day! My son attended both schools (he has a CI). At the Speech School everyone was dignified and rich! You could not use sign language there, however there...

Anyone Know Anything About Being Deaf in Dallas?

We are moving to the Dallas, Texas area (Garland, TX) and I want to know what is available for the deaf in Dallas area. My fiancee lives there so that is where we will start out. Best city/town for a Deaf person to live in?

I agree that ATL is a good place for the deaf to live. While I wouldn't call it DEAF FRIENDLY, there are a lot of organizations here. There are two specialty schools here that kinda represent the current deaf divide- ASL (Atlanta Area School for the Deaf) vs CI and no ASL (Atlanta Speech...

    Wanted to vent!

As a parent who has made a few bad choices in picking schools/programs for my son, let me say this: We only want what we think is going to help our kids function in OUR society. When you find out your child is deaf, depending on where you live, you are told your options as if they are your...

We are going to the ASL expo here in GA next weekend. MY FIRST BIG TEST! I am so nervous. I feel SO stupid when I go up to the school and...

My daughter wants to come home.

Hearing parent here. Few questions: How far away from the school do you live? Can you go visit with her like, after you get off work? That might ease her missing being home. I agree with making the deal to give it a few months and I'll tell you why. Though I am not deaf, I was...

    Respect to Deaf people

Wow, I tried and tried and didn't understand anything you were saying here. (You may not have been addressing me anyway, LOL) Are you asking about dating for deaf people? Are you saying there are no deaf people in Saskatoon?
