    Adjustment to late onset deafness

The prospect of losing my hearing has always scared me a bit. It's not that I'm scared of becoming deaf. I've been finger spelling and using basic signs for 10 years, now. Over time, I've adapted my communication around my hearing abilities. For the longest time, I didn't even know my hearing...

It's been about a decade since I've signed regularly, so I really don't remember much passed finger spelling, so if you want practice there, I'd be glad to relearn the signs you already know :-) my skype name is sdsmithartanddesign...

If I still can't catch on to what they said, I tell them what I know they said and ask them to...

Also, anyone who would be willing to teach me signs for biomed, I would be delighted to talk to you! I'm having issues getting my hands on proper materials to interpret my A&P book.

    Students Looking for ASL buddies

Hi! I'm getting back into ASL after nearly a decade since I last did fingerspell interpreting for my best friend in HS. That said, I know how to fingerspell pretty well and I'm getting into learning basic signs, now. Anyone up for practicing on Skype, lemme know :-) Thank you!

    Deaf Wanna-Be's

OK, now we're diverting from sociology and heading straight for anthropology. The disconnect, here, is that there are several different meanings to the word "culture" and that many people don't consider all or more than one to be true. Yes, in some definitions of "culture," the idea of "Deaf...

Something shocking and creepy, deaf wannabes, pretenders and others

Just thought I'd impart that, yes, there are treatments for hypersensitivities. They are about the same as treatments for the opposite: limited exposure.
