Hello! Can't believe AD is still around!

Yes my aunt and uncle were married and it worked out fine for them. They were married for over 30 years before he died, she died a short few years after him. I think it can work for those who arent jealous and have a very strong marriage.

I lost mine completely at around 35 years old. But the first time, I was 14. I got a hearing aid at 15.I didnt cope very well. I shut myself off from everyone for a full year. I dont think you ever truly accept the loss, you just learn to accept what you cant change.

Having something that pretty much lets others know that we are deaf puts us in greater danger because now they know we cannot hear them sneak up on us.

As a former smoker, I can tell you the evils of smoking and those who do smoke does not really realize just how bad they smell. I cannot stand the smell of smoke anymore and when someone who smokes gets near me, I just have to move away.

Think of how many falsely accused could be on this registry also. Plus, in the state of Ohio if you are above 14 and accused of any sexually related crimes you can be forced to register. I do not agree with this. We take away a child's life before he even begins to really have one.

I would think it may have to do with more than a fetish. I would think that maybe they have the idea that deaf=dumb. I have noticed a lot of deaf people complaining that their spouses cheat on them and do not include them in conversations and etc. I think maybe they date and marry deaf thinking...
