BlackBerry Bold Officially Announced!
blackberryboldseries4ug8.jpg

— it’s alive and confirmed. The BlackBerry Bold is indeed the official name for the BlackBerry 9000 device and it should be available starting "this summer." AT&T is the first carrier to launch, but there is also a 1700MHz model coming which will support T-Mobile’s 3G data network. Here are a couple highlights:

* 1GB on-board memory with encryption.
* Tri-band HSDPA.
* Pricing in the $300-$500 range with a carrier.
* Launching on AT&T "this summer."
* Interchangable color back plates.
* 5 hours of talk time, 13 days of standby time.
* 624-MHz Marvell Tavor PXA930 processor
You can check out the news and first impressions at C|Net, PCMag and USAToday to get started. or check "Hop mybb UP" under signture.

Story developing…Stay Tuned..will post the release as soon as it's up

Note: I wanted you know whats going on right there out around asap.

Hmmm, let's see when the iPhone comes out with 3g and the blackberry 9000 comes out this summer with 3g and see which one will be a best choice for me once I get my economic recovery $ and sell that AT&T 8525 on Ebay or somewhere. It says that it will be in $300 to $400 range, so wonder how much it will be for a upgrade price.

I would jump on that BB 9000 if AT&T offer it on TAP plan otherwise I am staying with WM6 or soon WM7.

AT&T need to get their butt off and talk to RIM about allowing deaf to use it on a TAP plan and accept some discounts like Sprint does.

iPhone is nice but still no laptop tethering and 3G yet. If the new iPhone have 3G and I can tether it to my laptop then I would grab one. iPhone SDK is out so there may be a chance someone write a laptop tether program for iPhone.

.

hmm i think infosynchworld's report might be in error about tmo's future bold because tmo's 3G(hsdpa) is 1700mhz and that report shows there is 850,1900,2100mhz on the bold for tmo's own 3G(hsdpa).

1700mhz model will come out for tmobile this sept, btw.

well it wont happen in my opinion. 40 dollars a month is good deal in my opinion. i have strong feeling that sprint ll raise the price on bb plan to 40 something in the future. i could be wrong. wait and see... i dont want to see foreign wireless carriers are looking after Sprint.

Yup, I noticed it, I hope their website would be edit soon.

BB 9000 looks awesome, I'm considering to get 3G iPhone in next month or so, keep my BB for backup.

Seq, I know you are huge fan of apple things. I think better you should get 3G iphone first, because att offer tap. ;) .. I don't know if you do know who R-Vass is? He is the crazy diehard MAC and APPLE stuffs! He currently using iphone for a year, he has strongly faith in iphone. He is happy with it without issues/whines.. (i bet that he jump up and down that att offer tap for disabled people).

Dude, thank you for link..

Nice BB. Touchscreen yet? LOL
Catty, ha..unfortunately Bold hasn't touchscreen.. BB is more dominate the traditional keyboards. But Maybe in future RIM will has the touchscreen BB someday..

BlackBerry: Touchscreen Blackberry Patent Suggests RIM has SideKick-Envy

Yes, I like this touchscreen blackberry like Sidekick or Tilt. its keyboard is better fit than tiny keyboard of other BB. I can't wait to get it.

$40 per monthly under att is included with 200 text messages.

$35 per monthly without text messages.

Ah, it looks like as if blackberry is trying to copy Apple's iphone. They did that with the HTC touch.

Yeah.. I don't wanted the blackberry copy apple's iphone or treo. because I don't like the on touch screen keyboard.. I like the feel of actual keys. Also, I get emails and instant messagings constantly throughout the day and BB's is the king of the QWERTY mobiles!
