This isn't in the news yet. I'm from Basel and Hoffmann lived close (in Burg). My friends mother helped to look after him, he died last night (of old age probably, he was 102).

You might not belive one source you don't know and who has no way to back up his claims but it's true. It will probably go public soon.

I hope this posting doesn't give me bad flashbacks . . .
 
My brother is deeply saddened, :lol: actualy he's clean now, but I find this oddly amusing that we are memorializing the maker of a now illicit substance that is largely used for psychedelic and recreational purposes.

But that wasn't his intent when he formulated the drug. There are many drugs that have valid therapeutic uses that get used illicitly. And LSD is not the only drug that he is respsonsible for. It just makes a good headline in the news to focus on the LSD.
 
Yeah the recreational use a brainburner and dangerous. But reading the story New York Times the drug really can put people in tune with nature. In a sense that they care about it and realize it's weakness. Those who used are probably the least of the polluters. The world could use some of that.
