Input Please?

I would like anyones input if you can, on what is the best books to get on starting ASL as an adult? Video's or DVD's also. My local library has several but would like to buy my own too! Thanks to all!! :fruit:

The "American Sign Language Handshape Dictionary" is the only book I'd consider a "must have" If you're going to buy books that's the first one I recommend buying because I'm sure you're enjoy owning it.

Be warned; you can't learn ASL from a book, you can build a lot of vocabulary but with a book you don't get much syntax, and most importantly feedback.

Be careful with books from your library, make sure they're ASL and not SEE, they may not specify. Nothing wrong with learning SEE, just make sure you're aware of the differences.

Thank You for that infomration! I do know from talking to my sister,who does ASL as an interpeter that what you say is true. But until I can get to classes, I would at least like to learn the basic. Bummer that she lives across the map from me!! Thanks again!!
