the Google Maps on iPhone is done in collaboration between Apple and Google. As for the downloaded app in .prc format is done by Google and provided without collaboration with other company. You see Google is on board of director at Apple!

only different you did mention it has very little different - GUI or whatever while most features are very similar.

No matter about collaboration. It's just software. Windows come with IE7 and download Firefox. Firefox run faster than IE7.

Mac come with iChat and download Adium. Adium is better than iChat.

What version of Adium you use? Adium still better than iChat because IChat is just for AIM only and Adium have everything instant messaging like AIM,MSN,YIM, ICQ,Jabber,GMAIL,etc.

I know you was half of tired so I like to sue your ass since you post the incorrect info about Treo and google map. ;)

No I don't use Adium anymore, I tried it 2 yrs ago and blah.. (I know they merged with other software maker I don't care to remember.)

What iChat can do is AIM, Jabber (any), Googletalk (gmail), ICQ, Bonjour (intranet) and SMS (yes it can be done!), under Jabber, I can talk to those from Livejournal. So it is NOT JUST AIM! I say this from my experience in using the iChat I used Mac OS X since 10.0 and I am early adopter! and this back up my claims what iChat can do: IChat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I use iChat primary because I am .Mac user and I can have encrypted IM or encrypted Videochat.

I use MSN for MSN as well as Yahoo thru Live feature.
I use Yahoo for Yahoo as well as MSN thru Live feature.

I am sticking with iChat of Leopard! Adium users will drop and flock back to iChat after Leopard is out.

I did try Treo but that was before Google released google maps for them. *shrug* no I do not own one but have used it (borrowed) to IM others couple of years ago. I can't try the google maps at any store that sells Treo because it is user added software not bundled whenever I see a Treo.

Right now I do not know of anyone in Tucson that has Treo, they all have SK!

as I read the wiki, It is possible to use iChat for msn and yahoo using Jabber.

then that means I can use iChat to chat with everyone.

I went to mall for shop and stop by Sprint and I played on Treo 755p and it come with google map.

What Deafclimber do with that?

"possible" sound like hack or not 100% stable. yahoo account with jabber isn't work on iChat.

I tried that, and it's not work. I tried third-party plug-in with iChat. Not even work with jabber. I have must doing something wrong...

I'm still stick with Adium for now. I prefer 1.0.1 than 1.0.4

"possible" sound like hack or not 100% stable. yahoo account with jabber isn't work on iChat.

ah cool. i dont care about EDGE networks. i am happy with google maps on EDGE network. it works great. i cant complain.

Apple chose EDGE connection over 3G for iPhone for their reasons. i believe Apple will develop next generation of iPhone that will come with 3G connection. i dont know when it will release. so we wait and see how iPhone will do.

sadly every employee in at&t won't get iphone til next few weeks. even they dont get discounts on the iPhone. at&t says that customers come first.

Deafclimb, I correct you and completely agree with your comments of post, For truth, I am happy with Yahoo! go maps on EDGE network, its WORTH! :)

Man, it's gonna be a really busy day tomorrow at Apple Store. It's gonna be congested for sure. I wonder how many they have on hand, by average each store.
 
limit two iPhone per customer.. it is walk in and buy then walk out. and you activate it at home.

Steve Jobs says only go to apple store if you want iPhone tmw not to browse... or go to one of many AT&T stores
