Never trust what the box says at wal-mart when buying electronics and never listen to the associates. They dont know what the hell they are talking about.

I bought an MP3 player this morning that on the box states it is compatible with WinME and I go to install the software via the installation CD and I get a message that says the MP3 software is NOT compatible with the OS.

I sent an email to returns inquiries and I hope I get a reply shortly, I am hoping I can take it back and get my money back.

So heres a word of the wise----

CREATIVE LABS MuVo V100 IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WIN ME. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

I am not sure if they will refund, but I know they allow exchange. Please call Wal Mart as Wal Fart ;)

I was thinking about forgetting about wal-mart altogether and go to Radio Shack instead. Surely they have something that actually works on my OS.

Of course I may wait a few weeks and put back money and get a laptop and a flash drive so I can move all my stuff from this comp to another one that you can actually get stuff for that works.

That would be better, I never shop electronics from Walfart, most at other stores..

Windows ME is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy outdated.

yeah but its better than nuffin' ain't it? I plan on saving up for a personal laptop with XP on it and go from there Im tired of screwing around with WinME trying to get stuff to work and my parents are too cheap to invest in a new OS or computer. to be honest I am not even sure I'll be able to find an MP3 player that works for ME.

You can take it back. I've ripped Wal-Mart off so many times. When I moved out on my own, I bought a ceiling fan to install in my new room. Well, I fudged it up. So I bought another one. Same thing. I broke both of them trying to install them. Took them both back, told the clerk they were broke, and got my money back.

As for an mp3 player: iPod. I swear by mine.

Last week I brought MP3 from walmart and it didnt work on my laptop so I returned it and told them it didnt behave themselves. Sure they laughed and got my refund.

sure i know that walmart electronics sucks
never works

that why i never brought electronics from walmart

I don't usually buy electronics at Wal-fart. I mostly buy at electronics stores. :)

Wal-Mart don't make electronics. They sell them.

Wal-Mart has a lot of high-quality electronics but the selection is obviously not as big as you would find at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. Wal-Mart do sell some cheap brands too as well, so it's better to be wary of these products. So I suggest that you do your research before buying an expensive product. Don't blame Wal-Mart for it. They have nothing to do with the quality of their products because they don't make anything. They just sell it.

Even the salespeople at Best Buy and other big-name stores don't know too much about electronics in many cases. Believe me, I know. I always do my homework before making a big purchase.

Make it a thumb of rule... do some research before you make a purchase like that.

I'm not blaming wal-mart. I just prefer to shop at a electronics store because they got more choices. That's all. Even though, Wal-mart is geared to low income people. They tend to build where low income people live.

Sometimes Walfart charges things for too much money like Nintendo Wii, so I will wait til cost go down and will buy from other stores...

Eh?

They sell consoles at their suggested retail price because they don't really make a profit from it. They make their money from games.

Go to Best Buy, Target, Kmart, other game store www sites, compare with Walfart, and you will see... Walfart sell it for almost $500 when others sell for $249 something..

I noticed. My parents are a bit too trusting of those they deem "experts".

When I was staying with my parents, they bought me a DVD with a CD player at Best Buy.

I noticed that the DVD wouldn't charge properly. The battery pack was poorly designed and the battery pack kept falling off. My Dad was like I just didn't understand the instructions. He said that either my brother or my newphew who are both into IT and programming should be able to help me with it because they're experts. I find the agurement absurd. It's like saying I need to be an expert on car mechanics in order to drive the car.

We did return it and I got a refund.

I'm not taking my parents shopping the next time around. :P I'm doing my own research :P

Um, no. Wal-Mart sell it for the same price as the other stores. It's illegal for any store to charge people more than the suggested retail price.
