Just got this via e-mail
THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL

SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his
engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas
prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to
read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day"
campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it
might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just
laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt"
ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really
work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super
cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.79 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to
think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need
to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to
take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit
someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that
WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a
price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline
from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their
prices.

If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and
Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at
this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach
millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least
ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more
(300 x
10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of
people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each,
then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to
do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a
mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.) :)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten
more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could
conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that
we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30
RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

I've gotten that email before, too. I do think it's better than "Don't buy gas on <insert date here>"

Why dont we all go back to the old days of horses with carriages? Could be healthier for all of us. :giggle:

I am really down about gas prices going up cuz it just costed me $52 bucks to fill up my tank. Ugh

When I first bought my new compact car, it only took 8 to 9 dollars to fill it up (that was five years ago.) Now it costs me 23 dollars to fill it up. And I fill it up twice a month because I use the light rail here in SLC sometimes to save gas. It is free for me because I have the EcoPass from my work.

AWW! Lucky &(*^(&%^( sorry for my ranting... Denver do have lightrail but it's way out of my commute to work and I could use public transportation but it's close when I'm driving at 4am to work... I used to fill my car for approximate 20 bucks or less but now I'm currently filling for 35 bucks, as of last night, weekly cuz I drive about 30 minutes north Denver to work from downtown where I nearby live. This had made me apply for new jobs and hopefully sometime by June I'll have a better new job so I can :fu2: Wal-Mart.

mostly gas shop have more prices for gas include food stores,wal-mart,whatevers in gas prices at stores.

but my hometown have more gas gallon this summer hope so

my mom got gas filled out and over $20.00 or $30.00 between prices of gas but mostly people getting gas filled how much money will be!?!

Seem like the rebel against the gas prices are more coming, and more more..

I only drive my car to work that's it. I walk for my grocery shop, I walk for visiting friends, I walk etc etc. Sometimes I ride on the city bus. I never go to gas station every 2 week.

I need to walk to everywhere. No more driving...I want to give up driving.

that is an alternative method of saving money

did you ever try public transportation?

When I was a Gally student and then working at Gally, I used the metro daily. It was great and then got my job. No metro out here and the bus service was not so great. I can check out the routes and see what they are like now. Heard they are lousy out here in the 'burbs. GRRRRRRRRRRR

I am always on a time limit for everything..especially after work, having to take my daughter to her games and needing to be there at a certain time which the bus wont make possible.

he's right about applying for new jobs, and keep in mind that employers may give you better benefits to afford gas, etc but really, their budget might be tight.

understandable! You're not the only one who is dealing with lack of public transportation. I have been going through the exact same thing, and I have to call the bus twice to verify everything is all set. it is not 100% guarantee.

That would be $1.20-$1.30 per gallon.

Depends on how big the tank is. If it costs $8-9 ($8.50) a tank, at $1.25 a gallon, that would be less than a 6 gallon tank. I don't think any compact car has a 6 gallon tank.

P.S. Gas here is $3.65. I would not be complaining if it were $3. :D
