I don't need touch on TDD anymore, they are died.

Oh, yes. You are right that Sorenson is best. I heard that many deaf people love it. I am waiting for the VP employee to come over and install it for me. My television was broken so now I have another one. I told him that he cannot come, but now I got the TV. Grrr!

rhr - if there is no luck, you can dial 911 without a TTY and no talking. The 911 system can trace your address, and they will come to your house right away. You will probably find an attractive woman to help you. ;)
 
Yes, I know I have many use AIM, VP, Computer iwthout TDD
but it is import for 911, if you not have TDD, what need call 911? AIM, VP, computer can't 911

If it is really emergency, being nude.... does it really matter? I can guarantee that any VRS operator will not feel offended as long as it is not directly to them. Your emergency call is number one priority. I am not saying that it is OK to do that, all I am saying is that if you happen to be in this situation, then Im sure these operator will understand.

If Im in that position I would go ahead anyway.

After two experiences with 911 though SVRS, I find this much more efficent than 911 though TTY, I thought TTy would be better, but found out that I was able to do VP 911 much faster!

FYI, if you have Sidekick or other pager that is made after 2005, all you can do is dial 911 and wait for cop to come to you, anywhere you may be! No need to tell them where you are. As per requirement by FCC, all new pagers must have GPS encoded on them so that they can be tracked with location down to about 3 yard radius.

Then, you make fire outside and smoke some signals for help - like the Indians.

Do you live alone or with your parents? That should not be a problem if your parents are hearing, and they have a regular telephone. I do not think that is difficult for you to dial it. I am sure that you are smart to find a way - like Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill from old show "MacGyver." (or Stargate on SCI-FI)

then use voice phone, just buy from wal-mart for under $20.

use soreson vp to call 911. why bother with old technolgy tty?
 
Cox man come this morning, he look and replace, nohting, then I check TDD IS WORKING!! I ask him what happen? he said don't know ... Very Weird !!!

Good!!, Guess I missed the blog!

I use RoadRunner under Time Warner and have Cable/Internet/Phone combo pack. My tty works on digital line. BUT it sure did act funny. I have two ttys, one is Ultratech 1100 (combo tty/phone) and other is spank'n brand new Superprint 80 (wide fancy tty w/ wide printer). Ultratech 1100 is old and when my daughter use phone on 1100, it cause problem cuz the Superprint 80 suddenly switched on and say "Deaf Caller, USE TDD" and repeat. She got on nerve and switched it off. Until we got a new cordless phone (Panasonic brand) and stopped using Ultratech's 1100 and threw it in the closet (crappy tty). Problems finally solved!!

I actually really HATE tty now and it's ooolld and obsolete and it breaks easily (I have 5 broken ttys, all Ultratechs!! SuX!!!). Luckily we didn't BUY that tty. It came from TAP's Voucher ROFL (Free money for tty).

It's kinda sad that TTY companies DOESN'T keep up the technology. IT sure make us feel like we're in Russian technology (25 years behind)!!!. Where's the funky tty w/ color and transparency and lights, cordless tty ect. (We need an exciting ttys instead of old booorring one!!) I'm sure that TTY co will go down and under as soon as FCC decide to close the Landline in next 4 or 5 years.

How about TTY works with VoIP, internet and also comes with videophone (all in one tty). Sorenson sure leaped us 5 to 10 years ahead of hearing people! I'm sure by the time the next 5 to 10 years, all hearing will have videophone on EVERY home and office. Thus leaving them NO excuse to discriminate deafie!! and Deafie would be able to have a better jobs in future!!

I don't think it's efficient for police or other emergency when real phone number is addressed.

I prefer to use voice phone to tracking my address, that work so great.

Seriously, I don't need VRS, no thanks.
 
I did twice call 911 though SVRS. Works faster than I thought, and I was impressed.
