Hi everyone,

I need to tell you because there are so many deaf people misunderstand the meaning of ADA and EEO. I am tired of reading people's posts saying that they need to go to ADA for their complaint. Unfortunately, that is not the answer because they will be embarrassed that it is the wrong department, and they will think that you are dope. Let me explain to you...

ADA stands for American Disabilities Association which means that employee's demand for his/her work. The employee has the right to request the company to purchase somethings such a good light lamp, a new TTY, a better keyboard, a good computer chair, and more. You tell your boss that you want some things for your job. (If what happen you get fired because your boss did not give you what you want. That's what you need to report EEO. If EEO do not find an evidence, then your last resort is to hire a lawyer out of your pocket. My opinion that it is not worth for you to hire a lawyer. Just keep looking for a new job.)

EEO (or EEOC) stands for Equal Employee Opportunity which means that the employee is unhappy and thinks that there is something not right about his/her boss, or discrimination, or applying for a job that he/she did not get it without a reason. That's where you go and submit a report to the EEO. The EEO agents take your report seriously. You have to be careful what to write it down so that you have a proof to show the agent (not your boss - for sake). This is not easy...

Why don't you read these links and learn about them? Here are the links:
