Here are the answers you need to know about DTVs directly from FCC's web site.

One of the faq part says that anyone is not required to buy a DTV/HDTV right away, all you need is a set up box (digital to analog decoder) to get digital programming to work on an analog TV once analog signals are shut down on Feb 17, 2009.

I saw in the store "Best Buy". Guess what?! I need an advice for all of you,
I looked any of kind the televisions with along the HDTV and SDTV. HDTV is a different than DTV for affordable television. SDTV. (Standard Definition Television) I like HDTV is even better in my opinion. Anyways,
I found any of them all for SDTV not HDTV-- so, I tried to turn-on the captioning, and there is an advanced captioning that you can change anything: font, size, colors, and etc.
I saw captioning, looks great. It was from Insignia TMis a manufactured television that has advanced captioning for SDTV for example CS1, CS2, CS3, CS4.
My comments are: "Wow, it's been never seen it before in my life until now...
it would been already seen on the digital captioning that has everything that I been learned from the internet in few years ago! " :

Oh, man. Jeez! I feel sorry for you don't have a closed-captioning for digital
broadcast. It's-- there is an advanced captioning for EIA-708, so you may find
a CS1, and you will see a menu for changes any kinds of fonts, colors, backgrounds, and size.

If you don't have advanced captioning that means "digital captioning." That only has analog captioning as Line-21 captioning. Although, you doesn't have captioning for digital broadcasts that can't carry Line-21 captioning.
I am sorry, I forgot to tell for making sure if you have it: when your TV is manufactured, look back
of the television for date. I think your TV before late 2006 or 2007? I dunno.
I thought that it has digital captioning in late 2006 or early 2007 in
Best Buy store in Oakdale, Minn. Maybe I am lucky to see that so I don't worry about it. Next time, you looked for advanced captioning
that it only for digital captioning on ATSC.
Look it on wikipedia.org and learn about ATSC. I would sure you would like
the digital captioning really looks better than line-21 captioning.
