Sony is reportedly launching a movie download service for its PSP which could rival Apple's iTunes store. Your thoughts?

My thoughts? seems that UMD is...dead.

You means that want UMD to die? for movies or games?

UMD is needed for make games on PSP.

No I didnt say I want UMD to die...I'm talking about UMD movies and they obviously dont sell well in most retail stores but UMD for games is fine since the PSP is mostly seen as a videogame handheld console than an hand held portable movies on mini-dvd player.

I'm not surprised. We're going to see more and more of companies jumping onto the bandwagon on movie downloads. Microsoft and Apple are doing it, now Sony is.

Probably would generate more revenues in comparison to the UMD format as it's right in their hands whenever they want it.

Yea, for movies then of course.

I had tried to watch movies on PSP and seems impressed but not many feature like on DVD does, also I don't buy UMD movies so often and not interesting with them.

I'm going own PSP with different color and better analog stick, just wait until couple of years.

If it does happen then I hope that Sony will release pre-paid card that can download movies without charge with debit card or credit card.

If it does much improve but need increase more GB on memory stick.
