Is there a doorbell that can be used for rented space like an apt where you cannot drill holes in the walls? If you live in an apt how can your visitors let you know they are there, other than messaging you? What if the person doesn’t have their sk or blackberry or other phone on them and are in a different part of the apt? I don’t like to just walk in, (including hearing friends homes that I have known forever) and if the door is locked I cannot let them know. If I have waited for a while I will walk in but if I don’t see them I will stomp on the floor to let them know I am there. Luckily no one lives below them! LOL

You can ask landlord to get wireless doorbell system becuase it's the ADA law requires ADA Title III for accomecations, my apt bldg is a State Federal Housing (mostly all of wheelchair lives in there), a landlord gave me a Nutone wireless doorbell for my door, and the intercom have a caller ID enabled to send to the apt caller ID, that phone nbr came from the lobby intercom and turn on the tv to check a lobby security camera for who is there. very important if someone plan to come to the apt, then the person need to make appts to come your apt. otherwise non-appts I refused let them in except an emergency personals or fire-medics have a "Key hacker" (used called "Bump keys").

Cool thanks! do you get those from VR or from somewhere else? is there a place online for it?

I am on section 8 housings, the landlord can order a wireless doorbell or you can get EDP from your state, (Equiptment Distribition Program) ( they may carry "Multi-System" in one equiptment (Alert Master or Sonic Boom with few devices).. my state don't have a multi-system.. only seperatly devices.. TTY/LVD with Sonic Ear lamp flasher (Mouse-looks signalers). In your state that should have a deaf stores let the landlord buy and order it, you don't have pay for it, because you're legally "Applicant of residential" under the ADA law, the landlord's responsibility to buy and order.

I have just brought myself a wireless door chime with flashing light from a hardware store a few weeks ago. The press unit have a double side stick on and the screws is include too if you want to screw it on the wall. I have mine stick on the wall next to the door. The receiver chime unit is about 6" x 4" and you can move it around anywhere you want. I have it here in my computer room now cos I am far away from the front door and I cannot hear anyone knocking on the door. It's work great and am happy with it. It is simple and easy. No drilling holes anywhere to put the wire through. Mine is HPM Deluxe Wireless Door Chime with flashing light. I don't know if you have this brand in USA. :)

I have a wireless doorbell that is part of my Alertmaster signaling system. When someone rings the doorbell, it sends a signal to a vibrating pager I wear on my waist. My landlord could have provided a wireless doorbell for me, but VR purchased the entire Alertmaster system for me 11 years ago. :)
