I guess you haven't heard of MEDICAID.

Oh I see...

I don´t understand why mother neglect his son´s medical care when she know Medicaid cover dental care for the children...

because the mother was hoping that once his baby teeth falls out, then it will solve his problem, well the mother was wrong!

yes very wrong

It only adds to the problem. Teeth need to be taken care of from early child hood.

you right you better know about medcial card? but my sister said that
.. she did pay price $2,000...... no medcail card but denatial wont use med card!!!!!!!!!!!

Not all dentists accept Medicaid...you have to call all the dental offices to find out which one takes Medicaid and which one doesn't. Or, you can call Medicaid and have them send you a list of dental offices that accept Medicaid in the mail.

And if your sister does not have a Medicaid card, then she needs to apply for Medicaid.

There are detists out there that do not take medicaid or other types of medical assitance cards. However the ones that do far out numbers them. A few of the dentists in my area have payment plans for people without insurance at all...

Yes it is correct.... always ask dentist if she or he accept medicaid...

I know LuciaDisturbed, she jumped on Buck saying there's no co -pay from MEDICAID so therefore, she was wrong too...

Well I do not have co pays at all for doctor's office visits, but some people do. *shrugs*

I do have to pay co pays for my medications, though.

Nevermind..I realized you were talking about SxyPorkie...oops! LOL!

To settle this debate

I was curious as to the co-pay issue, so I did alittle research.

I found out that parents of kids who are enrolled in FL Medicaid program (called Medi-Kids) DO NOT have to pay co-pays.

This is ONLY in Florida, though, so each state may be different.

I was also curious about Texas since that's where Lucia is located, so I googled.

Their Medicaid program is called STAR. They also don't require parents to pay co-pays for their children's medical care or prescriptions.

I apology, I wasn't trying to start a debate here, you guys are correct, we do not pay co-payment on Medicaid for children but I honestly do not know about other states so I can't speak for that :)

FL does require co-pays on Dr's visits, but again, it's minimal. $2 per visit.

We also paid a small co-pay for my inpatient stays last year, but that was $20.

Small, considering....

You don't need to apologize.

Medicaid recipients never had to pay co-pays until the last couple of years.

Thats what i mean Medicaid is fully covered on children.... adults pay copay.. not children...
