AHHH! im nervous!!!!!!!!

Wellllllll...let's see now, the surgeon will put on boxing gloves and knock you out, then stand by and watch the nurses 'tickle' you, listening to how you laugh--when they have had enough of that, they'll go to Home Depot to get brand new saw blades for their power saw..................................

:D (j/k)

hahaha you're silly

Hey SpicyHD, I hope all goes well with your surgery and truly sorry to hear about your knee, get well soon :)

Hey, Spice!

You'll do fine, girl.

What others have said about the surgery is correct. I beg to differ with RR on the type of anethesia, though. I prefer to be kept awake, but that's me!

I don't know if all doctors give you that option, though. My Dad had a meniscus tear repaired back in June. The surgery was outpatient like yours is going to be, but they put Dad out for his. He did fine, though. He stayed off the leg for 24 hrs and kept ice on the knee. The day after surgery he was up on crutches, and a few days later, they had him walking unaided. He did undergo a few weeks of PT, though to strengthen his thigh muscles, but he's fine now.

I'm sure you'll do great! :)

Spice, I hope all goes well with you and try not to overdo it. Having a surgery is not to be taken lightly, Although I know the feeling of being nervous. You can tell your doctor how you're feeling and I am sure he will assure you that you will go through it just great. Do have a speedy recovery as well :)

Hi SpiceHD, You will be fine, have confidence and I hope you will be up and walking in no time. Please remember to take it easy on your leg knee because you just had surgery and the muscles and the skin have been cut open so there is bound to be some loose knee movement for a while until you heal up then the muscles and the skin itself will attach and heal up then your sinews will become stronger. Go with the anestania because you will just breathe and then go to sleep and wake up hours later, have some ice cream, ginger ale and buttery toast. Whenever I am in the hosptial, I try to go inpatient so I can focus completely on healing and you will do fine outpatient at home. Just treat yourself good and give your knee some well deserved rest :D

thanks heath i probably would go for inpatient except one thing... hospitals scares me LOL! I perfer to be at my home where everything is familiar and comfortable ya know?

That is understandable. Make the best of being treated really good by your family, relatives and your friends during this time when you have your leg all wrapped up and you are home resting in bed with the t.v. I hope you get the leg brace and not the leg cast but either one will be fine because it gives your leg a chance to heal up. Have fun being royally treated really good !!!!!!! :thumb:

LMAO! well thats definitely is positive thing to look forward... to be waited on! LOL

I just spoke to SpiceHD a few minutes ago, she was on her SK. She's dazed from the anesthesia. She asked me to let y'all know that she got out of surgery okay, she registered at the hospital at 12:30 pm and then at 2:30 pm they put IVs, anesthesia, etc in her arms and put her under. She woke up at 7 pm with nausea, she felt like throwing up but could not due to having an empty stomach. Her leg is in a brace now and she is now at home resting and eating ice cream at the moment. She has 3 pages of pictures of her knee that she probably will post in AD later in a couple days or so. It turned out that her anterior cruciate ligment was torn. She's also on painkillers.

I hope she will have a speedy recovery with no complications!

I am glad that she came out of it okay, I was thinking about her all day today!

I guess that's all for now.

It's understand about being nervous due CI surgery but most patients are successful.

I had been thinking 'bout her quite of time today and wonder how's she went well surgery knee?

Anyone who knew her and fill us update?

okay im back and surgery were successful... i called my doctor today and discovered how bad my knee really was. he said he would expect a bad knee like mine in average age of 40 to 50 yrs old not of my age (im 24) i have both inside and outside tears Anterior Cruciate Lignment which is on both sides of knee and Meniscus tears but because surgery were successful i would have be able to use rollerblades by the time summer comes. what they did was they removed some of my tendons and add other lignament from other person's body (dead body). im to start to excerise my knee in a couple days when it becomes a bit more comfortable (less pain) ill be seeing doctor this fri abt lot of things including physical therpsy. so all weekend im to sit on couch and keep my knee leveled up. i took 15 min off couch just to tell u guys whats going on. now im going back to couch and read books. i will show u pictures later and maybe i will move to different couch so i can be on pc more while keeping leg level up heh. later guys

Glad to hear you came out of surgery fine! now just take it easy and you will be ok. :)

Thats great everything that your surgery was successful..I hope & pray you have a speeding recovery!:):thumb:

That is good and I excepted your surgery to go very well and that the surgery would be a success for you. Take it easy and relax, enjoy your family, relatives and your friends and Get Well too !!!!! :fingersx:
