Dr. Chorost has bilateral CIs practical experience from someone who has them and does like having them. No concern of yoursAh... so the hamster is dead, you just want to discuss your things not in reference to anything thing else... hmm bias much? You have 2 degrees and cannot do a comparison... cannot look past your nose?
I do not believe anyone has said that deaf babies are the property of the Deaf community... become familiar with the quote button... goodness knows it has been asked enough of you, if you do not know how to operate it; ask. Lots of friendly people can walk you through it...
While you do not think that implanting prelingual babies is a bad thing, how does your thoughts reflect on the data that Hoichi provided that stated numerous factors to the contrary?
If more children show small improvements how does it rationalize denying prelingual deaf children sign? Does it not make sense that in order to market their product they would parade the few solid successes in front of cameras and crowds? Is marketing not a type of propaganda?

Have read anything by Dr. Chorost. He addresses the vary issues we have be discussing in Rebuilt.
I think your really hung up on that on statement. He said getting CIs made him more. He did mention you or any other person.
ive read every article he has posted on his webpage, and his page, and the interview you posted.
in both the interview as well as on his webpage he uses the term "more human"
and its not by accident
what you think?
NO
he stated CI made him MORE HUMAN
thats his exact words.
i'm not hung up
i'm using his words..
if he is MORE HUMAN then those who don't have CI, what does that statement make those people with no CI?
are you sure you went to college?
this is below college level comprehension we are discussing here
Lots of things make people feel "more human". Google "feel more human".
I'm guessing he said HE feels more human than HE did before he got the CI. Not that he feels more human than someone w/o an CI.
I had always been sort of: sort of hearing, sort of socially aware, and as one dating prospect ambiguously said to me, sort of adorable. I felt, as a result, sort of human.
Yes I started watching and he was captioned talking about "bastardy". Somehow I doubt it.This has auto generated captions and I don't trust that to be accurate. I think most of us know how they usually turn out.
This may be why he said he feels more human
