We haven't turned on our heater yet. This morning the house was 56 degrees. I love it, husband is freezing. Just curious, how cold will you let your house get before turning on the heat?

Our heater will be turned on tomorrow, temps are dropping.

My heat goes on if it hits 68 in the house, I'd be turning blue at 56 degrees. :eek3: me turning blue!

In the 60's. I was ready for the heat in early Oct because of some cold days/nights we were having, but the apartment complex doesn't turn the heat on till mid October.

It been on about twice since October. 56 centigrade that be hot for me.heating set at 22.i don't remember degree in Fahrenheit very well

It was about 58 F in the house this morning, now 62F or 17C, and haven't given in yet, except for turning on heat in the bathroom while showering.

I turned it on when it suppose to be in the 30's and it got too hot so I turned it off. If my pipes were not in danger of freezing , I wouldn't really put the heat on . I can' sleep in a room too hot . The heater doesn't work very good in my condo . The condo installed the wrong thermostats in our units and I told them along time mine wasn't working right . All the thermostats has to been the same b/c we have only one heater for the building and I am the only one with right thermostat but it not working right b/c the other units have the wrong thermostat . UGH ! I would rather just put more blankets on my bed when it get cold out.

The problem goes the other way also, at least for me. I am used to Fahrenheit and get lost when I see Celsius. So . . . I looked it up and 56c is 132.8F (very hot on either scale). Celsius at 22 is 71.6 Fahrenheit which some find low, others just right, and then there are those find it high!

We would get along so well.:giggle::giggle:

This time of year the temps are still all over the place. We were in the 80's last week, still had the AC on. It is getting colder this weekend.....I have to give in. Not for me though, I sleep with ice packs on my neck and back. I think when my pain level in high, my body temp is high too.

Turning on the HEAT??...goodness gracious!...Has been in the 80's here....no Autumn weather at all....Nights are around 74 to 78....so my AC is on during the day and off late evenings....

Seems Florida has given Autumn the Bird here in Florida!...

Look at a map. It appears that you are one of the most southern members from the US. So I am not surprised that you are still HOT.

Like WhatDidYouSay, the oil heat comes on when in the 30s or forecasted to drop to that overnight to protect the pipes. We also have a wood stove which is good to take the chill out of the air or heat the whole house as needed.

I've seen the Map...and can withstand the Heat...but not the Cold...still bathing suit weather as far as Floridians are concerned....:giggle:

I hate being too hot. My kids are always cranking the heat. I'm always cranking it down. At night I would prefer it below 50F in the house. I've got my Lab to keep me warm and for backup the wife. Lol. :D

I turned heat on about once in October because of short chilly - they only lasted one weekend.

In here, the full-time cold weather will not start until December, but in some years, it can be early as November.

When I lived in DC, I got colds in September but in here - not until November or not at all if lucky.

Once I get out of the shower with 2 belly buttons, the heat comes on.

For the past week, we haven't needed the heat really as we've been on a warm front. If it's rainy, damp and raw and in the fifties, we turn on the heat. My parents unfortunately have the coldest room in the condo so when the temperature drops, they wake up cold and turn the heat on to 73 which kills me as I have the warmest room in the condo. I often have to crack a window at night just to be sure I don't wake up from the heat.

However, when my sister visited, she had the windows open while she slept (it was winter). I actually woke up from the cold and had to walk carefully in the living room to shut the windows and raise the temp to 69 so I could sleep. She pretty much kept turning on fans and opening windows the whole time and I couldn't wait to get the place back so I could feel warm again. In the fall and winter, I like it set to 70. We don't lower it below that so the cats don't feel chill, especially at night. Our senior cat even has his very own super soft, fuzzy, blanket.

In oregon it is between 40 to 60° but my heater is broken for the 4th year in a row so we will stock up on blankets, socks, and warm hats. Happy blue lip season :)

I do not have heat to turn on... But do use space heaters but that is generally at night and in my room when it is expected to get really cold otherwise I just add layers until the sun warms everything back up...
