I don't know if anyone got an upgrade from standard DVR STB to Quantum TV where you can get up to 6 or 12 recording at the same time plus it allow every TV to pause, Rewind or Forward since ,each TV will have "client" connected to the main DVR box. Which is nice so that my wife in our master bedroom or in our gym have ability to pause it.
Now here's the bad part, closed captioning is full of crap! Whenever the actors stopped talking and go into viewing mode, the CC stay there for long time, or if actor suddenly talk into German language, the subtitle appeared but CC overlap and we are unable to figure out what they are saying. The CC stay there until a person start talking in English. Or when it go into commercial, the CC stay there until any next commercial provide CC. It's really annoying, also whenever you change the channel, the CC doesn't start right away, there's a long delay and finally CC appeared. We are unable to "Rewind" since we just changed the channel. We are fed up with it and contacted Verizon Tech support, and we did try all kind of changes in setting (like try different fonts, color, CC1 through CC6 and on) So they said that there's nothing can do about it right now, but they will look into it. I told him that I'll wait for about 6 month and no firmware upgrade available, I want to go back to old STB with full refund for using Quantum TV.

You'll never know what to expect with new technology and they don't bother to make sure that CC meet all the requirements??

Pretty Frustrating....

Get Direct TV it has CC

But comcast interrupts this stupid test

Direct TV doesn't

EAS is mandatory testing, required by local or state laws, not Comcast.

Directv has to comply if local or state require them to run EAS.

EAS is good for emergency only so I don't understand why are you saying that EAS is stupid test, so sure you want to die from natural disaster.

DirectTV is a complete joke and a farce. my condo community room had a DirectTV and I had a group gathering there to watch a game. It was useless because it kept skipping and getting static due to rainstorm.

so we went back to my room and watched the game... FiOS!

FiOS FTW!!!

Yes, DIRECTV passes through any local and state Emergency Alert System (EAS) messages that are broadcast on local station networks. However, these local EAS messages will not be available on all DIRECTV channels.

See not all of em. When i used to watch Comcast the EAS interrupted when i was watching the OReilly factor on fox news.

why would you watch O'Reilly? it's a filthy show. that man is full of hate, bigotry, and racism. you shouldn't fill your head with filth. To me - anybody who watches and believes O'Reilly show is a very gullible person. they're no different from leftists either.

Not if you live in area that where receive west feed like LA - Directv service (even ALL channels) will be interrupted if authorities in LA issue EAS to all channels.

Don't blame on Comcast - it is government's regulation.

O'Reilly? LOL... what's most retard shows ever.

I agreed.

EAS usually lasted about minute or few minutes so I don't understand why Joker is whining over small thing.

Time for Joker to get his ass to find a job so he's remind me of Ravensteve and Buckdodgers.
