For the life of me why didn't the wife put her husband's name on the lease too??

Hard to say. We'd have to see how the document was worded. It might have required the husband's signature, and since he wasn't present at the time he wasn't able to sign it. :dunno:

I followed a link to an article about this after having originally pulled up a different news story. Follow on down to the comments and in more that one of them there is a link to the leases for this complex. It is different, and somewhat confusing, because it is student housing off campus owned by a real estate firm. Reba can probably help us sort out the part that comes from him being active military.

First of all, I find the whole concept of a spouse being considered as a "visitor" rather odd. Since their baby didn't sign the lease either, is it also a "visitor?" When does the baby get the boot?

As far as the husband's military service, he should go to his JAG officer and get the free legal help to which he's entitled.

I don't know how many of the comments following the Fox article you read; but many of them were asking the same questions. I guess it will take time to get real answers and not just the questions.

I read about one page of the comments.

I agree with about the husband being a called a visitor odd. Did you notice JaneB called you a 'him'? You sure do not look like a guy to me.

I think the "him" she used was referring to the husband in the article.

"Him being active military" That sentence right there let's you know Jane refers to the husband in the article.

As for Reba, "Her being retired military." :hmm:

LoveBlue took it the way I meant it. I was in the midst of getting this posting ready to try to clear it up when notification of LoveBlue's post came in. (http://www.alldeaf.com/member.php?u=23650Bottesini's came in while I was finishing this and she also took it the way I meant it.)

Ok , I was not sure you the 'him' was meant for.

I think you are meaning to say "I was not sure who the 'him' was meant for." If that is the case, why didn't ask rather than accuse me a calling Reba "a him".

I know Reba is retired military .

OK, moving right along folks…. :)

I know Reba is retired military .

 Then why did you say Jane called Reba "him, active military?"

Sorry Reba, last one, but whatdidyousay should learn to stop when she is ahead sometimes! :eek3:

With fewer eyerolls and contempt when people point out her inadequate reading skills. That is combative behavior, and provocative.

I am not the only person here that misread people comments. If anyone is being combative right now it's you ! You're being a troll right now !
