It's pretty good- I've used it before on both my iPad and Android and still have the app. I don't think you can use it on the PC (that I can remember anyway). For it me it was definitely a lot better than AIM or Yahoo- easier to see the text (When I used MSN type app that one did have better ability to adjust font size and color).

On iPod touch, it wasn't able to set up vibration alert, so it was basically unusable.
I think it's great. It's just a mobile device IM'ing program. Free. 
Might as well use Tango if you ask me though. Tango's a little more invasive, however, very useful if you go shopping and need to show the wife something. It's got great video conferencing quality.

Actually she asked me about it because her client using it and I haven't really look into it and she just want to know how safe it is and such.
Yeah, we use Tango before she move to iPhone and now we use Facetime.
