Fruits that are allowed to be dyed .

I forget about pickles being dyed yellow. I know Vlasic dye their pickles yellow you can see it.

This has been going on for years. I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, it gives some incentive to grow a small garden, not a bad idea.

Now will look closer at the produce, wonder how customer know if its dyed or not when selecting produce

If you buy strawberries in season and from a local farm they should be ripe and not need to be dyes and you could tell by the leaves . They should been green , if they're a strange color the berries most likely been dyes red.

I am trying to sell my condo so I will not be able to plant anything and you can't made your windows look difference from other people windows . If I lived where it did not snow I would consider buying a small house.

It is interesting that you can't change the window look.

Vlasics pickles are the best! I don't care if they're died... they're super crunchy... :D

An interesting fact. I do not have time right now to get the link.. tonight I will.
I was researching these USDA approved labels and organic labeling and so on. The country of China does not allow US inspection of produce. They say what is and the USDA trusts them and allows the labeling companies to label on trust.

I prefer Claussen to Vlasic but haven't had Claussen in a long time. When I was a kid my folks always loved to have kosher dills with their beef hot dogs.

Hub loves the Vlasic hamburger slices<pickle>.

The dye thing is why I try to buy organic or local produce most of the time.

We use to get those big fat kosher pickles at cost a nickel at the kosher butcher . I prefer Claussen to Vlasic too and I have a bottle of Claussen in my refrigerator .

My dad remembers those nickel dills at the butcher! His dad was a kosher butcher for a while, among other trades, and his uncle had a kosher deli. So my dad and his sister got lots of "Jewish soul food" he calls it, when he was a kid.
Bubbe used to make gefilte fish from scratch and my dad says when he came back from the beach or some other teen hangout in Summer, he could smell what she was making before he got home:lol:

So now i want Claussen and some Jewish food...sigh...

My dad once made some stuffed clams from scratch and he put them out on a snow bank to cool off. When he went out to get them the shells where licked clean! Dad blamed our next door neighbor's son who always getting in trouble . Someone dog had a nice homemade snack! I know this not kosher food but , it's a funny story. Me too, I want some pickle herring and Jewish black rye bread. And I want to see my dad cut the loaf of bread by holding it in the crook of his left arm and cutting his with right hand . My younger sister would get upset when dad did this , I thought it was neat.
