I want friends, I'll do it the old-fashioned way-- manual work. That's how I reconnected with a couple of them.

Can't do that fi they moved across the country. Now that some fo my friends ahve moved away to go to univeristy Facebook is for some the onyl way to keep in contact.
 
Yeah, same... I have some few classmates moved overseas after high school and reconnected them thru Facebook. Makes it easier to be in touch occasionally.

Hm... I didn't realize building connections/friendship was "manual work"... how is that manual work as opposed to meeting people online?

Ditto- there are also people who do NOT like going out into social situations or can't for lack of transportation. I am more comfortable using online methods over face to face (mostly with hearing people- today I'd forgotten what it was like to interact with deaf folks lol- a lot more easy going but still hated the crowds...eek. I have met MANY people online through various forums and common interests (online riddles and point n click games etc). I have met a few in real life as well- at least two are now some of the closest friends I've ever had.

I reconnected with a couple of old college friends with whom I had lost track of, in one case at least 25 years ago.

So-- to each their own. I don't think FB is a waste of time, however I think TWITTER is ;).
 
Some of you were asking me what medicine I was taking to control my mood swings. The name is Tegertol, and works really well.

Did. Not anymore, but they're keeping the medicine, because of my potential of a violent temper. That temper has been dormant for many years, and we'd like it to stay that way.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's like saying, "I was deaf, but not anymore because I wear hearing aids or CI."

Not even close. We're erring on the side of caution, because without that medicine, I have the potential to seriously harm someone, and that medicine keeps that under control and manageable, and keeps me harmless.
