18 yo Girl is suing Her Parents

I am not sure who to believe but the girl sure does sound like a spoiled brat.

It's the "entitlement mentality". Expect more of it.

I think the lawyer handling the case should be looked into , it sound fishy to me that the 18 yo girl girlfriend's dad is helping to sues the parents . I doubt that he doing it for free. I am surprise no one said anything about this. Yeah this is the 'ME' generation .

The judge threw out the case. :giggle:

Oh ..... noooooooo .... what is she gonna do now? will she actually have to get a job????

OMG!!!!!

The poor thing

IMO: The parents should provide for her finishing high school. Beyond that, they owe her nothing.

It never even occurred to me to ask my parents to pay for my college. I can't imagine suing parents.

I'm glad the case was thrown out.

My bad .. not thrown out .. request denied:

A high school senior's lawsuit against her mother and father for financial support and college tuition hit a hurdle Tuesday when a New Jersey judge denied the teenager's request for immediate financial assistance from the parents

Student's lawsuit against parents for support loses 1st round in court - CNN.com

oh .. but there is more:

"We're being sued by our child. I'm dumbfounded. So is my wife. So are my other daughters," he said. "Living in our house, there's very few things. There's minor chores, there's curfews. When I say curfew, it's usually after 11 o'clock at night."

Sean Canning wrote in court documents that the Inglesinos, for taking in his daughter, had "enabled the situation to an absurd level. Under the guise of good intentions, they have arrogantly placed themselves in our stead and operated under the belief that their parenting style is superior to our own."

let me take a wild guess who will NOT be in the will.

The judge threw out the case. :giggle:

And the lawyer will have to find another way to made a fast buck . I am so glad the judge saw thru all the lies .

Welcome to the real world girl, you can't live dependent on your parents and expect to move forward on a life of your own. Time to grow up and face it like an adult! :bye:

I am sure she will make a lucky guy a wonderful ex wife someday.

Some other article I read says that she is now working at TGIFriday's somewhere.

That article also said that her parents do love her unconditionally and would welcome her back but dislike what she is doing now.

Come to think of it...I know of at least two other 19-20 year old young women MUCH like her. Entitlement, 'abandonment issues' (when there really was NO abandonment) and twisting things to suit their own needs and vilify the parent(s) being targeted... yeah...

I think every young adult 18+ should experience a starting position in employment and a taste of independent living to gain a sense of appreciation of finance and life decisions. The whining and lies that kids resort to is just making their situation worse. Forget instant gratification, got to work on it.

When I was 18, I was spoiled, dumb and naive - I thought life was too easy and I thought that I will going be rich.

Not anymore after I realized that SSI was not enough for meet my needs and I worked at Walmart, so not enough to make ends meet and I was so poor, even I had to pay bill as well. The life was HARD and not much economic mobility to make challenge to my disability.

I learned very hard. :(

Kids and their disrespect to their parents... Jeeze... I'm 27 and my parents would still knock me into next week!

Mew- I'm a lot older than you and my parents would do the same- smack me if I tried disrespecting them or anyone else in my family. (not that I could...)

When I was 18, I knew I had no one to support me, all I did is to start applying jobs, living with roommate (who later recruited me to his company), so on...now I looked back, wow I am glad I made a right choice.

Now I look at this 18 years old who is crying "MAMA, I want to suck your milky tits, and hey DADDY, can I have a dollar for this ice cream?"......this makes me disgusting.

She better post her career as SUGAR DADDY on craigslist/backpage, so she will have a happy ending. :giggle:

Gimme gimme gimme!

The girl will have lots to learn and long way to go in her life it's time to learn to live independently. Typical brats trying to get away with it and loses a first round in court. Better drop the lawsuit and look at yourself in the mirror for a start.
