Driving Rules

In all the places we have driven in I think New York City, San Francisco and DC are the worst. San Francisco with the steep hills, one way streets, cable cars and loads of traffic. New York City just the total congestion. I have never seen my husband so upset as when we were visiting and driving in DC near the White House.

Here you can turn left on a red if it's a one way street onto a one way street. Right on red is ok but there are streets with a No Turn on Red sign. When someone beeps their horn at me I have rolled down my window and point to the sign. Usually just ignore them though.

Same here. I see a No Turn on Red sign, I follow that sign. If I get honked at, I point at the sign, and they shut up, never to honk again. Chicago has a bunch of these signs around here, mainly because several of these intersections are accident prone, and I'm not about to join that list. Noooooooooooo.

Having to be retested every year would be quite expensive. It isn't the lack of knowledge that creates poor drivers. It is the lack of respect for the current laws. They could post new speed limits of 90 mph tomorrow, and 50% of drivers would exceed it by at least 10 mph.

We have a sign in my park say ' keep dogs on their leashes and to pickup after them. I saw a person standing near the sign and she had her dog off it leash . She did not give a shit what the sign said. Some people just think they're about the law and could care less about anyone else.

There was a park I used to walk in years ago. It had a small lake I would do laps around, a paved trail. There was a guy with a huge Doberman that let his dog lead, without a leash. I saw him there at least once a week. His dog would be at least 20 feet ahead of him. There were mothers with baby strollers.

There was a sign that clearly said "All dogs must be leashed."

I've never heard of turning left on a red light, except by motorcycle, only if the sensor doesn't trip.

The only time I've seen left on red is if it's a left onto a one way street. :dunno2: The motorcycle left on red sadly isn't recognized in a lot of states because they don't understand the anger and frustration apparently. :laugh2:
