The Wire was very good. Original Hawaii 5-0 was good, and I enjoyed Crime Story. I'd probably put The Wire and Homicide: Life on the Street at the top.

Have to give three.

1. NCIS. I still miss "Kate" and Ziva (who was Argentinian not Israeli - but Israeli on the show).
2. Hill Street Blues
3. I'm adding my own blend: Person of Interest - they have cops
involved.

They're not in any order. They're all fabulous.

Absolutely. Both have forensics in it but that's CSI Vegas' 90% focus.

I really like Law & Order: Criminal Intent with Vincent D'Onofrio , I think that the best show of all of them. I like Vincent D'Onofrio acting , he really get into his role. . I like
Columbo
and NCIS too.

LOL, can we add Dexter, too?

24 is not a cop show. It's more like national defense agency than police.

Blue Bloods, Crime Story, original Dragnet and Highway Patrol, CHIPs, The Closer, Major Crimes, Police Woman, Adam 12, original Hawaii Five-O….

…Longmire, Mod Squad, Kojak, Magnum P.I., Starsky and Hutch, Miami Vice, Cagney & Lacey, Homicide: Life on the Street, Barney Miller….

I grew up watching Cagney & Lacey and Starsky and Hutch. I don't think I missed an episode. Does Charlies' Angels count? they were law enforcement, although not traditional but they were cops before meeting Charlie.... :)

I grew up with Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I. and Hill Street Blues (couldnt understand it much as there was no subs) now i probably would enjoy it alot, as a couple years ago in one of a media papers which i was doing, covered television and its some of the "accidential" successes, like M*A*S*H was one, Hill Street Blues was ahead of its time in terms of genre mixing and "drama realism"....so since I am taking time off study this year,i will seek some TV series from the library and watch some sessions, also for "The Wire" which reputed as a high quality show...(we discusses/studied what constituted as "quality TV"...so there the The Wire came to my attention)...

Oh, I also like Bones...not really a cop show, but have strong central elements of it, so it does count.

Rookie Blues, a canadian police drama is good if not "excellent with a capital E"...their acting is very good!

and damn I have always liked that Ferrari 308 in Magnum P.I...and the music and Higgens, kung fu and dogs, Apollo and Zeus..
