My parents never let me believe in Santa. Yes yes, I was that TERRIBLE child in 1st grade that told all the other kids Santa wasn't real. ( Don't blame me, kids share what they hear and learn! ) My parents explanation is they did not want me growing up with a lie they would have to destroy me with later; it makes sense to me. :dunno2: I didn't get devastated or anything, I was cool with it. :dunno2:

Ahhh, I think that is kind of sad. I don't see it as lying to my kids. It's a way to teach them how to use their imagination. When my youngest was in seventh grade, she thought like your parents did. Don't lie to small kids.......
Now she is older and tells me what a wonderful job we did to make her Christmas special. I've always loved Christmas. We didn't get much when I was young with eight kids, but the excitement of Santa coming was priceless.

I definitely see why other people do it... I just never personally had that for me. :P Suppose my parents wanted credit for all the money they spent... :laugh2: Seriously though, I'd never poo on a kids imagination just because my parents farted all over mine. :laugh2: :D

My youngest saw an old man with a beard in a restaurant yesterday and said "Look, it's Santa!"
