thinking of decorating my house for Christmas...

if no high bill then I d love to have to have house full of bright lights.. in the few years ago, we had lot of lights, then saw the bills. nuts!! we cut down each year later. this year we had no lights outside yet. lol

Well, some people in my neighborhood have quite the nice house, so I can safely assume they can afford to overdo it a little bit. There's one next door, and another one a block and a half down that has lights on a pine tree and elsewhere. Then there's the local electric company which has put lights on ALL of the trees on its property. Makes me wonder how the people are able to sleep.

The people who want to have Spirit of Christmas in their own block can overdid too much but I learned that the electric bill might be over $50 or more. Beside, that take lot of effort buying all the decorations and lights to brighten their homes and their yards just like the OP's picture. That is way overboard. I guess that make the homeowners happy when they do that every Christmas. :hmm:

I saw on house on the news and the electric bill is over $1,000 pre month.
What a waste of energy .

Some people dont know when enough decorations is enough. Lol

Yup, they don't. Just HAVE to spread the cheer. That's doing it a LITTLE too much. Next year, just simplify things, folks. Keep that bill under a grand. Geez.

Do you think this is a good idea? I feel like it needs more...

Not sure as I could sleep with all those lights beaming through my window.... Not to mention, WAY too much work....

I put up a tree and that's about it. I don't see any sense in going crazy on my home personally because I just have to take it all down in a couple weeks anyway. I don't really have all that time most of the time. I'd be "That one person" who leaves their decorations up through July... :laugh2: To each their own, if they are super into Christmas like this guy.... good for them, but man that's a lot of work!

I don't even put up a tree or anything else.

I usually put up a tree maybe lights outside and that's it. But then if I wanted decoratins when I move into my new hous ei can make my finace do everyhitng. lol

Growing up was once like that, felt more like a full time job than it was fun but the results more than made up for it! Now I keep it simple placing two small fiber optic trees on the dining counter and coffee table, and a fiber optic wreath showing through the window. Done all that jazzing up before, SO not doing that again! :laugh2:

Wait for my holiday photos from the Illini tomorrow. You may see something interesting. Who knows?
