Colorado town's vote to shoot drones down

It is possible that a drone would be distinguished as an airplane. What if that happened and someone made a mistake and shot down an airplane? That would look bad for everyone!!

I don't know if it's legal to even consider shooting a drone. Federal government would come down hard on any communities that are considering passing laws to shot down drones.

FAA already said that it's ILLEGAL so that's why the mayor put votes on hold. :laugh2:

I think we should ban on drones that used as recreational.

I don't think Congress will ever vote to have spy drones flying all over America. PFFFT!

Recreational!? What about government snooping into your life?

Government snooping is part of recreational because it has no benefit and it don't make us more safer.

I'm ok about farmers and firemen use drones to spot the problems, in farmland (for farmers) or forest (for firemen).

Drones are one of those its time has come technologies. They will be used for so many things it will be impossible to tell if a drone is spying on us or just doing its job as a security device.
Up here in Alaska the oil companies will use them for pipeline surveillance. The capabilities of these things will increase continuously. Whatever your vivid imagination can conjure up and more.
It would be a good time for a country such as ours to require that this technology is built here in America by Americans. That of course will not be the case. Treasonous politicians funded by international corporations will make sure that those jobs go to a country we do not have balanced trade with. Which means every single country we have a trade agreement with.
That makes two things for a fact. One there is no stopping the use of these things and two they will be built by foreign labor. Welcome to modern America.

Yeah, that's true. It also means reduced workforce/manpower. Drones take over. Someday robots will take over.

Much earlier in my career there was still the skeleton of an America that valued stability for its citizens as well as profits for what were still mostly nationally owned employers.

I worked in heavy industry installing new technologies. A city I worked in a lot down in Washington had been a place where you got a job you worked for the same company for your whole career. A lot of the work was physical labor by human beings in places that were in fact environmental hellholes. New technology cleaned up those hellholes a lot. It also took people who had always had work and put them in an employment line.

It was a different time and it took me a while to understand that there was a correlation between my work, the layoffs, and the guys that would be found dead by suicide in an old pickup truck with a bottle and a gun.

We live in a different America now.

Higher unemployment = higher crime = higher taxes and so on = future America.

Balanced trade was more than a concept. It was a practical way to keep an economy working innovating and stabilized that our country enforced.

Our various corrupt politicians being the public face for their wealthy owners sold out America each corrupt administration taking us another step down since Kennedy was whacked.

Balanced trade does not even get lip service now.

Oh joy now mountain cowboys are acquiring stinger SAMs? Unless the shooter is a sniper, good luck on bringing that UAV down!

They are dreaming but it is a pure expression for their revulsion at spies in the skies. I think they stopped short myself. A bounty would be more like it. Once upon a time crows and eagles had bounties on them why not drones?

Oh dear, more Big Brothers are watching you all in USA.
