We've had cell phones, then smart phones, now we have smart watch coming....

God, where does it end? At this rate, we'll all be talking into our shoe at a bar like Maxwell Smart.....

I imagine some people do that aleady at bars. Or talk into the shoes of other patrons while flat on the floor. :giggle:

I have a pebble watch. I can't wait for the apple watch though. Pebble has problems.

According to Moore's law of technology, technology is bound to double every 18 months, it seems getting shorter and shorter.

I am waiting for the day when hearing aids can be used as a phone too. I am surprised it has not happen yet.

As hearing aid companies become more competitive for customers, I don't expect it'll be far behind...and wouldn't it be cool.....

Yeah it would be very cool! I know one hearing company came out with HA for first time wearing . The company is hoping to make $$$ on baby boomers needing a HA as they get older. So hearing aid/phone would be a big hit .

yeah...

also water proofed...wifi enabled (already there I think?)....yeah everything's changing so quickly, not to mention our lifestyles and ways we think has changed drastically in a mere 10 years...look 10 years ago, no one (well general public) thought of having an electronic book apparatus (kindle) , pads (i Pads, Samsung Galaxy notes), and smart phones getting much closer to a capability of a LAPTOP, hell even some Gamers-specs' PC that was here 10 years ago, not i don't just mean technology i mean ways we think of where in formations is obtained, even further than that, ways of what information are considered important is changing...and more so even ways of what we think needs changing has changed also...laws, corporates perceptions of elitism have changed also, and some of it has 'trickled down' to public as 'new luxury', the luxurious data... yes, that some ELECTRONIC DATA are becoming a Luxury...oh and more extreme high end material luxury, while common materials are become increasingly junk-levels...pretty crazy...example includes, exotic cars, and jeans that we wear like 'good jeans' are getting EXPENSIVE...and "normal jeans" are getting really crappy..and not-so-cheap so the rich ones are 'keep their profits nice and high...

back to thread of smart watches...Id guess early generation so smart watches are going to be plagued with heat problems...and reliability of flexible, curved displays....and probably energy consumption of flexible display might not be perfect I dunno...?..and weight...

What's exactly problem?

If I get a facebook message it's unreliable - it won't always work to notify me.

Also if you get messages in 4 parts (as I often message to and from people) you can't scroll back - you can only see the most recent message.

It's good for briefly checking your messages, but not good if you get many messages from people.

I think they will combine the smartphone and watch concepts to a flexible smartphone that can be worn around the wrist then extended into a flat or curved device.

I have Pebble, too. I have jailbreak tweak called BTNotificationEnabler for my jailbroken iPhone 5 which send all Notification Center notifications to Bluetooth devices like Pebble.

I had gotten lot of all notifications for all alert apps but turned off bluetooth for several apps. But battery drained quickly for using bluetooth. I have my portable battery pack for emergency.

You can wait to get updated iOS 7 for new Bluetooth feature around fall. I really like "View over Bluetooth" on Notification setting. I hope this feature for iOS 7. Jailbreak not required.

I'm so paranoid about jailbreaking my iDevices because it takes them off warrantee I thought. I'm very excited about iOS7... And the new look is sleek!
