I see what you're saying, Lau. I suppose if you compare to a Poodle or any of the really "coated" breeds, yea I understand.
Guess I'm not one for the amount of feathering and amount of fur that the Goldens do have. Depends on how one thinks of it I guess.
The Rottie coat in the typical Rott <that does not display the long coat gene> is short to very short...my one girl has more of a "wave" and softer, denser fur, with small amount of feathering on hinds above from rear to above hocks. No fur otherwise "hangs".
My youngest has a very short, almost Weim or Dobe-like coat. The coconut oil they get has softened this youngest dog's coat quite a bit though there is still a noticeable difference in coat texture and length between the two dogs.
