Cicero pizza place reopens after 1 week...

I would understand shutting it down if it had been open for only a year or so but that's practically a landmark being there for 25 years. It's only the right homage to the owner not to mention lets the employees keep their jobs.

And not to sound harsh but murders happen every day. It's not an indication that the world is going to hell, just look at the Hitler genocide, millions were killed and that was way back in the 1940's.

Feel sure the family members are still grieving...they still have a business ro run/bills to pay and employees to pay....and sometimes going back to work does help people with their grief....

I had to go back to work 1 week after my grandson died of heart failure...wasn't easy...but I had bills to pay.

I'm sorry.

I would assume that Cicero was a better area 25 years ago when the restaurant opened. It's now a terrible area. A lot of shooting out there. I would not want anyone to open a place out there now if given choice.

On a side note:

Congrats, Derek, on your 4,000th post! :P

Ouch. A lot of places go that way nowadays, unfortunately.

sorry hear your story news. :(

That's sad. The news video said it's the 8th best pizza place in USA? If so, then I agree that it stays open to honor him.

Thank you for the congratulations on my 4K post!!!

Interesting. I didn't know it was 8th best in USA. If so, that is an invitation for more murders. If a place is famous, then it's more likely they will be attacked. Sad, but true.

At the end of the news video, CC was cut off after it said 8th best. So I assume that it's 8th best pizza place in USA or Illinois or Chicago. I have no idea what year. That's why I put a question mark in my previous post. Maybe Reba will be able to tell us what it exactly said at the end.

 The Red Lobster is famous, too but there has been no robbery or murder at those restaurants.

Charges filed against Matthew Brown-Turner after Albano's pizzeria in Cicero owner Giovanni Donancricchia killed in armed robbery | abc7chicago.com

There's a picture of the asshole who killed the owner.

On Thursday night a witness who knows the offender came forward and told police that Brown-Turner was watching TV news and said that he was involved the shooting death at the pizza place, according to police.

The witness called Cicero police and gave detectives Brown-Turner's name and address. Detectives, tactical officers and patrol officers went to that address where a surveillance was set up.

At approximately 2 a.m. Friday, Brown-Turner showed up and was taken into custody. During subsequent interviews he made statements implicating himself in the attempted robbery and the murder of Mr. Donancricchia, police said.
