If you use the Hamilton CapTel App on a phone that uses the Android OS could you please let me know how you do the following: "From the Hamilton CapTel App call screen, enter the number of the person you wish to call in the "Number to Dial" box." That is all it says in describing the process at Hamilton CapTel: Smartphone: Android App: Placing Calls and not using your contact list. Is their a screen that comes up as part of the app that is arranged like a phone dial pad or do you use the cell phone keyboard?

The reason I am asking is that I am considering signing up with a different carrier and that would mean getting another phone. How you do that entry of phone numbers would make a difference in what phone I would select.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Stop... That's Hamilton is suspending their relay service...

Attn: Hamilton Internet Relay Users

You are receiving this email as a current Hamilton Internet Relay user or as someone who has registered for a Hamilton HomeTown Number in the past.

Hamilton Relay has made a difficult decision to suspend its text-based Internet Relay services effective May 15, 2013. This includes Hamilton Web Relay and Hamilton Instant Relay with Google Talk™ and AOL Instant Messenger®.

If you currently have a Hamilton HomeTown Number and would like to keep this same number, you will need to port your number over to a different provider. Hamilton will hold your HomeTown number until May 30th so that you have sufficient time to complete a successful port.

To initiate a port, simply contact the provider you wish to use going forward and inquire about their porting process - you may be requested to complete a form. For your convenience, a list of Internet Relay providers can be found at: TRS Providers | FCC.gov.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If there are questions or concerns about Hamilton Internet Relay or your HomeTown Number, please email us at info@hamiltonrelay.com or call us at 1-877-445-4563.

I will post in a dedicated thread.

I called Hamilton and found that if you are using a touch screen phone, what comes up when you touch the box for entering the number to call is a screen that looks like a landline number pad where you can just touch the numbers that make up the number you want to call.

I called Hamilton and you need to make sure of just which service you are interested in.

The DOES NOT affect any of their CapTel services.

I know that. The question is why? Will CapTel be next when they realize more trouble lies ahead? I see this happen a lot in the financial world, when they misjudge how bad things are.

She is right, sorry buddy. Her issue is VCO relay, not text relay even though it looks similar.

Text relay means a user sends and receive text both ways though relay, while CapTEL, a person that has hearing loss, were able to speak clearly no problem, and read what other person said back to them.

VCO calls is very difficult to scam with as compare to Text relay service or VRS. VCO calls is one way relay service pretty much.

I called Hamilton and you need to make sure of just which service you are interested in.

The DOES NOT affect any of their CapTel services.
