Patience is a beautiful thing. It takes a little extra control to have it. Some tricks too. One of mine is to tell myself, "time to put my patience cap on", I even sort of mentally put on a cap.
You would think with all the logo caps out there that once in a while you would see one saying "Patience", on it.
I know I sure appreciate when people use some patience with me. The kind that feels good. A little bit smily, a little bit supportive, just a little. I can help that happen too just by being that way with them. Not bs just a good way... just trolling the nice thoughts crowd here,,

As a person who doesn't like to waste a minute on anything, I know patience can be a very powerful tool. It can make you understand things better and more accurately.

Here's how I deal with it: I tell myself it's only going to take X amount of minutes to get something done. Once I have the time in mind, I don't rush through it.

It's a hard cycle to break, but it has many rewards.

Kind of turns it whatever it is into a small bite with an accomplishment at the end. I like it.
Patience really is about time isn't it?

Yes, it is.

Another aspect to it is the little bit of time you describe. Right at the beginning of the whatever it is. Where you are not just taking a moment in time to assign a time you are taking control of yourself and doing a rational assessment of what is happening.

All good things come to those who wait......but nobody wants to wait forever ;)

I like to think I have a lot of patience....I stayed with a man with manic depression for 14 years.....maybe that's tolerance hmmmm

But once I decide I want to do something, I have no patience at all, I want to do it right now.

Yes, but that is a calm moment. It is moment when you are a peace and can rationalize what you need to do. It's kind of like a calm before a storm, but one that wills the storm to pass. Basically, it's discipline and it's very powerful.
