Hi Mike, I've done some travelling. I don't have much money. I may try to land a stadium job this Summer, but I'm torn. It would interfere with my plans to visit my deaf friend in Pittsburgh and see my mom. It's a real problem for me right now, that decision, but I live in the International District of Seattle which is real keen, we have a Chinatown Gate.

Here's a picture I took of the Girls' Drill Team at the Opening Ceremony and Celebration!

I work at the UT (University of Texas) football games as an usher from time to time. I just do it so I get to see the games. There's this temp agency that UT contracts with for ushers. You should look into temp agencies and find the one that DOES do stadium work (whichever sport you're interested in). We get a little above minimum wage, GREAT view, more stadium access (I once made it on the field), and food vouchers. We basically are the busiest through the first half while helping people to their seats. The second half's when we watch the game.

I'm with ya. Seattle's for them coffee kooks. There's a pretty large Deaf community up there though. I've had some friends who moved there to do helicopter mechanic work.

Seeing mom's important. Mine died two years ago. I miss her terribly.

I don't know what a Chinatown Gate is.
 
I posted the picture but I guess it didn't come through. It was built by a real construction crew from China. Must have taken some real doing to pull that off in a union town.

As you may know from my initial post, I'm terribly lonely in Seattle and haven't met many deaf people at all. I'll probably go to the Gay and Lesbian Night friday just to be around the deaf. They aren't particularly assuming and anyone is welcome.

The ARAMARK company has a Job Fair in about ten days when the jobs are made available. It would be fun to have a job that allowed me to see the Mariners play, something I do all the time, even if it meant being on my feet the whole game.

I absolutely haunt the bleachers. I saw Ichiro's career with the Mariners, since I moved here that first year of his, 2001. He's with the Yanks, now. I took a train to Pittsburgh to see mom last Fall and hit the ground running to NYC to dig Yankee Stadium. PLANET YANKEE STADIUM. He was good.

I see the photo now. It wasn't there when I replied. I know what you're talking about now.

That's actually a pretty good coincidence about Aramark. One of my closer friends actually is a Sous Chef assistant with Aramark. He works at all the major stadiums but mostly at Minute Maid Park. He's definitely happy there but wishes they would pay more. He gets minimum wage or just a tad above. I have asked him if he watches the games but he says never. Too busy!

I grew up loving the Astros but since the strike in '94... my interest waned. Once they switched to the AL, I swore them off. I'm a VERY big Houston Texans fan. Got a mancave and all that!

Okay hey listen... I'm sorry Mac but I gotta get some shut eye. I'm getting a little crossed eyed. We've been slow a bit the last two weeks and I went back to work this afternoon. Kicked me in the gut for sure. It's good to chat with you and I like learning stuff.
