Using VP with vision issues..

Hi haven't been here in a wail, I'm wondering I have bad nysthigmus I can't see well now.. So it's hard for me to use VP. I use is my friends sign slow for me but its hard I have some blind spots , so have to continually ask my friend ,to shift around for me .to see and sign slow For the most part ,they are okay with it.. But this new guy I like for it to be very .. Annoying so he asked me to use relay I told him I was deaf but he saw me talking using caption phone so we try it worked we talked just fine.. My only worry is if we get used to this type of communication. Is this going to work when we meet..my vision is so poor do to me having atrophy in my eye and uncontrollable eye movements , can't focus .. My acuity is about 20/300 now..with blind spots ..can't see all signs and slow to sign not native ..so what should I do tell him I really like this guy..

Okay I waited long enough for someone to try and help.. But I guess I don't supposed and anyone help.. Being probably no one with vision or low vision use VP.. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with issue .. I guess I can say is a bigger TV equals better vision whatever ..

There is probably a screen you can use over the TV that will magnify it. Also, if you are VPing using a computer attached to a TV there are accessibility setting you can use in control panel that might help(I'm not sure if they work with video). Go into control panel to this path(if you have windows 7) Control Panel\Ease of Access\Ease of Access Center and take a look at the settings. Have someone that knows the computer work with you so you don't set something wrong.

This form is mostly for deaf so you would probably do better on a form that discusses vision.
 
I have no knowledge of what you are asking but I have a friend who is totally blind and profoundly deaf. The way she copes is AMAZING with all the technology out there. She is also one happy person as well.

Please don't feel ostracized by this post. You are very welcome and there are people here who can help. You are also Deaf. Visiting the blind sites probably won't garner you much results considering your language barriers but it is a must visit to see the specialty devices that are available for you. Technology has really taken off and every little bit helps. BEST WISHES!!
 
You would need to get retina display. All normal LCD flat TV won't help at all. I suggest you to use iPad3 or mini-iPad with VP app. They're best ideal for vision issues.
 
mmm I am not sure about your finacial situation. Have you seen your Voc. Reh. and ask for information about your vision that you may get something supports and check with helen keller school. My friend who did enroll the helen keller in long island. She is grateful to learn so much how to operation her life and adjust things to meet her needs. SO I dont know much about it. But my girlfriend said, " if anyone who have vision issue, see VR and helen keller."
 
I started going to vr the begin of this year ,for cooking program after testing ,they said my level of education wasn't good enough fourth grade.math and 5 grade reading level.well with all that said.they have since referred me too ,hellen keller .March 14 ,my appointment, they will pick me up. In still going to what i want.oh about vp in going yo fer a 50" hdtv, soon as i get extra Cash .vp will better. I hope.

They Also took my ,info from disability ,so they can get iPad for me.

I have magnified the text for you. If you don't want me to do it, just say so and I will revert back to normal size.
 
No I like it help alot,I have this app I download ,calles big font. The text comes out bigger,all friends use caps.for texting.thank u.Nitra-H.

Oh, sorry I did not read your post. That's good. you will go to Helen Keller to get an idea on March 14.
 
That's fine about not reading ,I don't think many would being about,vision loss and vp use...
