Jailbreak for iOS 6

lol, I don't use hotspot to play games, so those are for kids or anyone who camping in forest to use cellular data to play PSN or Xbox Live.

Yes, my college has free WiFi and they are much faster than Verizon LTE, also no bandwidth limit.

I don't visit DD, Starbucks, McDonald's (just take out, eat in drive) and public library. I spent a lot of time on road with my family and visit some family' houses - no WiFi so I use hotspot.

oic. read book? lol

when I'm a passenger on road trip, I don't use my iPhone much. I chit-chat, read book, or enjoy the scenery. If I'm bored, chance is a driver is bored too.... which means a driver could be dozing so why not keep each other awake? :)

No doubt. It's like trying to keep snakes out of a garden. It is sad what we have evolved into.

we have evolved into a very innovative, creative bunch. Companies are just too slow to pick on it because they focus on profits/marketing than customer experience.

jailbreaking to make your phone more efficient and intuitive isn't bad. in fact, it's great because it will cause more people to buy same phones as well as encourages creativity for company's next product.

jailbreaking to circumvent something like tethering or downloading app for free is dishonest and this drives up the cost.

read book isn't my hobby.

Granted they make a bunch off of the contract. But the phones are still much cheaper than without the contract. There was a homeless woman I was helping in LA last summer. Real sweet lady, and I looked into buying here an iPhone without a contract.(didn't want my name on it) and the AT&T store wanted $800 which was $600 more than with the contract. So that is quite a savings, especially considering the service is cheaper too.

BTW, Mine works on BART except for 2 stations. It even works in the Transbay tunnel surprisingly.

yea I'm not surprised. more and more major metropolitan areas are installing free WiFi. In the past, they haven't had much luck with it because of heavy onslaught and blockages by corporations.

Rachel Haot is the main driver (she's cute. google her. you will like what you see) in modernizing NYC's infrastructure. She recently started a pilot program for WiFi access in subway at couple of busy locations.

Some people like third party tethering better because of more features.

I agree completely.....except add in my warranty concerns.

as long as they pay for it..... fine by me!

Did you see about what I said? Verizon included tethering in all tiered plan, so only customers with unlimited data have to pay extra.

some people don't have Verizon....

Ok, I had tethering included in my plan when I was on at&t.

I'm dishonest customer? NOT!

Breaching a contract would still be considered dishonest. Those people hurt the honest people in this case.

There are ton free wi-fi include rest area on highway, I think it's pointless to have tethering. Plus, what's on purpose to have online 24/7? I don't think that's healthy. Look at the pretty cloudy and sunny!

It doesn't matter to me because many customers broke the contract.

If you saw a random customer at Costco plug in a store network cable in their macbook and got free employee internet from the store, would you do it also? Costco doesn't give free internet, the person found a cable lying around.

That's similar to illegal tethering, imo.

It doesn't make our country goes downhill and you are worrying too much. ;)

Dishonesty and a lack of morals don't cause a country to go down hill??? Umm, I know you stated earlier that reading books isn't your hobby, you might want to give that a try. Especially history books.

Also, as has been pointed out, innocent people have been harmed by this. That is sad but it is even more sad that some people do not care. :(

Bingo! It's sad, it seems some young people believe it is ok to take from people who are doing well, ie making profits.
