A Motorcycle Thread About Absolutely Nothing!

Glass Beads?? Is that Dynabeads you using or what? I use Dynabeads which are ceramic beads. I bought it from motorcycle dealer and it works like wonder. Also is your tires tubed or tubeless. If it is Tubeless, you might want to check to see if there something sticky inside center wall of tire. Sometime manufacture sprays sticky substance "strip" around inner middle tire which causes beads to stick and won't be able to balance wheel automatically while spinning.

My motorcycle uses tubed tires and I put in Dynabeads into air valve inlet and screw the valve back on. It works like a wonder, no more "hoppy" feeling and no more vibration on motorcycle except engine. It felt so NIICCEE!!! Slicky smooth!

So check and find out what you have on your tires. Catty

I bought WPS Counteract Balance Beads from a local bike shop. They are indeed micro-glass with a silicone surface. The kit is identical to Dynabeads.
1 oz in front, 2 oz in back. I road 180 miles Saturday with about 5 stops. They worked flawlessly. I can only assume my Bridgestone tires are tubed since I cannot see the inside.

 this has been reposted at least 3x in AD but it's still funny!

fortunately... this cummins diesel won't be allowed on the road. we have cops and race marshals (like me) to prevent them from going thru and farting at them

How about this one?

Haha. I am not big fans of either bicyclists or cummins drivers. I got absolutely nailed once on the motorcycle. Lid up and all. It was not pleasant but even then... I was laughing my ass off.

Last Monday, Jan 28th. It was nice an warm in the morning, 56 degree then 70 degree in the afternoon which was a recard breaking temprature on that day in Kansas City. I decide to pull my motorcycle out of sleep and rode to work and back then evening I rode to store to grab few things at WM then head home. My engine seem run great because I put in engine treatment and fill up with Premuim fuel and was sitting in garage for month.

My friend who bought similiar motorcycle like mine had dead battery. I told him that he should have use battery charge floater to keep it charge during storage. He may plan to replace battery soon once weather warms up.

Tuesday and rest of week was sucky, temp dropped to teen for couple days then warm up a bit.

I did see motorcyclist break out their bike and rode to work yesterday.

I hope you checked your tire pressure!

I hope you checked your tire pressure!

I did. Pressure was still good.

Last month, I have funny story.. I had difficulty with checking pressure on rear tire and I was using short little pressure gauge and it won't just show pressure. I thought my air filler nozzle was clogged. I decide to swap with good one and tried again, then check gauge. None avail!!?? After a little while. I saw little thick rubber ring on floor next to me, I just brush it off and continue to struggle with gauge. I gave up and decided to use my dial tire pressure gauge. Guess what, my rear tire was at 95 psi :eek2: ..I quickly checked the little tire pressure gauge and it turned out it was missing rubber inside of air inlet. I realized like I mentioned about little rubber ring above, that little thing fell out from gauge inlet and got me worked up for nothing!! SO I threw it away and had to let air out until it reached 44 psi. Sheesh, I could have blew tire with a thunder if I continue to fill. :eek2:

Back then 20 years ago, I borrowed my wife's 18 speed bicycle and I used to ride to work and back. One day, the pressure on front tire was a little low so I decided to stop by at gas station to use compressed air hose which was situated between gas pumps. It have gauge attached to hose so I checked tire wall for maximum pressure limit. It says 75psi (bike have skinny tires which is why). I went ahead and filled it to 75 psi. I checked and it say 74psi so I just topped it off to 75, suddenly tire exploded with a thunder that shook the cement pavement where I was kneeling on. (Bicycle front wheel lifted just 1 foot off the ground when it exploded while my hand on handlebar and other hand on tire valve :eek2: ) Everyone glanced at me and Attendant came out and check with me if I'm okay. I was a little dazed and nodded that I'm okay. I picked up the bike and walked home. I fell and laughed so hard at home because it was too funny

Almost same happen to me. I used old gauge tire for check on RV steering tire and it was around 70PSI, should be 100 PSI. So I added around 30 PSI and I noticed the tire bead looks like balloon then checked old gauge tire again and it still said 99 PSI. I don't believe it then borrowed digital gauge tire from old tech from old job. Guess what? It's 130 PSI! Holy shit! Thank god, I dont blew up the customer's RV.

So I decided buy a digital gauge tire and works great, lot quick, and easy to read.

That's one I have one with a dual air chuck. It can read between 5PSI and 175 PSI.

Looks like my instructor was right about digital gauge tire is better than old school gauge tire for perfect read and last long.

:hmm: I should have bought digital one at Harbor Fright tools (locally near my home). I agree with you that digital more accurate than old school. In fact, old school gauge varies +/- 10 psi. I have dial gauge with needle lock/release button which is better than nothing and reliable than stick gauge.

I just warmed up my motorcycle late evening to get my bike ready for tomorrow if weather not too cold to ride just to keep carburetor primed. It would be 55 degree tomorrow afternoon. So that I would start my bike easily in the morning.

I am planning on my day off that I would work on my bike taking apart shaft drive and lubricate with 60% moly grease that I bought from Honda dealership. In that way I won't worry getting my shaft drive rounded inside U-joint. I was told that I should do that between tire change. My bike now is nearing 19k miles. Also grease the end drive teeth that mesh with wheel drive teeth too with same grease. I read on Volusiariders.com forum that guy who did not grease the shaft drive got his shaft teeth rounded and unable to go anywhere in middle of the trip :mad2:

If its legal where you live, then your bike is legal wherever you go ( out of town/out of state ) they have to abide to their district only.
Some cops are asses and will ticket, even tho it will get thrown out but they still make a buck because of legal fees ( attorneys and court costs, let alone waste your time and money)

Now, here is a loophole most dont know about... instead of fixing a ticket..
Tell the officer, " I plan to go to court, see you there"
On the court day, the cop wont reconize you nor remember you since so much time has passed, the judge will throw it out. I was told this by a friend of mine who is a sergent. It works. The cop is losing money because he has to take off work to be in court and he has so much to do he wont remember you, when he cant remember you or what you were riding, the judge will throw it out, Ive done it twice. Loser pays... that means, you dont pay doodly squat.Unless you hire a lawyer to represent you.
I have taken ever baffle I ever had out of every bike I ever owned. Never had an issue anywhere except in some stupid subdivision where those rich folks live ( my buddy lives in one ) I lived in one myself and the neighbor hated me leaving for work at 4am... oh well that or the street rods with blown 350's...lol

 Yes just District only. I know it's a real pain tho. Luckily, I can do whatever I want. If I decide to upgrade exhaust pipes then I will have to re-jet the carburetor (this would create balanced fuel/air mixture to run smoothly).

I know it's kinda too much hassle to see them at court. My area where I live, Court are bit different, If I decide to have trial, I am required to hire attorney. Things have changed in my district. I believe the Judge are getting greedy and expected everyone to hire attorney if they want to plead not guilty for citation. Stupid!

I know what you mean about Rich folks. I know rich people don't like loud exhaust, they think you're driving a jalopy or junker and you're a ghetto while they have the quietest luxury cars or SUV. I know of one subdivision in rich area are so picky that they would not allow you to park your car on your own driveway overnight or if you are having party, you must notify HOA few weeks in advanced. Or if your friends or relative staying over, you also notify HOA even if it's your own house and your property that you are paying for, they act like they "own" your property and your life. Their HOA even sued playset company for installing orange slide because it's too bright color. It was big news in my district It's a Nottingham Estate in Leawood, KS (they're snootiest subdivision in the district). I can imagine that If I rode my friend's chopper with a thundering exhaust, they'll call cop and drag me to court just for stupid reason. :booty:

I think I saw one of website listed cities and states laws which are for cruisers who want to ride with unbuffered exhaust.

Yesterday, I had a rather interesting day..

I went to Lawrence, KS to pick up my friend, Johnny and took him to North Kansas City, MO for him to take a look at motorcycle and for me to test ride it to see how it goes. When we arrived to Apartment Complex and met with Owner, his motorcycle which is exactly the same as my Volusia but Black with Red trims and it have some light rusts which can be cleaned with either WD-40 or scouring pad that won't scour the chromes. I fired up the Vol and let it warm up for few minutes cuz it was 45 degree out. I took a spin and it was lurching a bit typically for cold weather just like my Vol. But engine pretty responsive and ride good but tires were low which was sluggish on riding. I told Johnny that everything runs great except tires which needed to be filled up  He was happy and we went into apartment and his wife filled out the Title and her husband asked my friend how much he would offer. Johnny never had negotiation before so I made a suggestions for a right price. He offer price and Owner accepted then paid for it in cash. Then the other Owner which is old man who is selling his Yamaha V-Star (puny Vtwin motorcycle) was sitting on chair near me. The woman was filling out another title and her hubby was finishing off title for Vol. I asked why 2nd Title?? She said it's for us that we're buying Yamaha V-star. I made a joke that Johnny give you cash payment and you pass it along to Old man for Yamaha?? She said yeah laughing. It struck me odd that day  The Owner and his wife told me that they missed Vol so much and they love it so much but they had to let it go and sell it because they are moving and can't move big bike. They went for "Puny" one to be able to take it with them.

So I received motorcycle key from owner and I gave Johnny my Durango key so he follow me on way to Lawrence because he don't know how to shift on motorcycle tho he have motorcycle license (He rides 250cc scooter that why). We went to Quick Trip gas station and fill the tank on motorcycle then filled air to correct pressure. Finally, headed to highway and it was so much better and smooth.. I fiddled with my friend's "new" Vol throttling up to 95mph and cut back to 70mph while he was far behind then caught up with me. He laughed that I shrunk away from him when I went 95mph. When we arrived Lawrence, We stopped by McD cuz I was hungry and he treated me a dinner :D then head to his Apt. I told Johnny now that he have motorcycle on parking lot and need to practice using clutch and shifter. He learned rather quickly for first time and he nearly run over the curb. He was shocked how powerful his 800cc beast was. he told me that his scooters feels like granny behind wheel and Vol made him being a big man. He is selling scooter for $600 and ride motorcycle from now on. He is looking forward to keep up with me on my Vol. I had other friend "Teddy" that I helped buy his Vol last fall and now that Teddy is excited for Johnny but said you had exact same color and everything on Vol. I told him that wish him luck figuring out which is his or Johnny's while mine is Black with Blue trim :rofl

Now that I guess I lead the pack of Deaf Motorcycle gang :thumb:
