Greetings!

I am taking an online aural rehabilitation class this semester, and I am trying to get a better understanding of how some members within this community use their hearing aids. I recognize that some of these questions are personal, and I certainly do not mean to cross any lines. Please only respond if you feel comfortable. I appreciate all of your time.

2. For how long before you got your hearing aids did you suspect you had a hearing loss?
3. How long do you wear your hearing aids each day?
4. Do you feel like you get benefit from your hearing aids?
5. What complaints do you have about your hearing aids?
6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or hearing aid dealer told you they would do?
7. Did you get your hearing aids from an audiologist or a hearing aid dealer?

Consistently, since late teens.

Five years old.

They don't replace normal hearing.

6. Do you feel like your hearing aids have lived up to what your audiologist or hearing aid dealer told you they would do?

Yes.

Only an Audiologist, I was unaware you could purchase directly.

1. 1973 for a year and quit ( bullied and they picked up too much background noises )
2. Since Birth
3. 24/7 except to sleep, the pressure hurts the ears
4. Yes to an extent, but never 100%
5. Surrounding noises/unwanted noises are always amplified as well, feedback, always something on your ear and gets knocked off at times depending on what youre doing (combing hair, working/playing)
6. Audiologist said they are maxed and wont help me 100% as my hearing is about gone, the aids will go out from time to time since they are working overtime for me, in which they have been repaired/replaced several times while under warranty. They are currently on their last leg and out of warranty. I was recommended to se a CI specialist after these quit since the aids wont help anymore ( not enough power )
