President Obama is taking some time out from the White House, spending the first part of July 4th week at Camp David.

On Wednesday, the president will host a White House holiday barbecue for military families.

It's a good time to be out of Washington, which is sweltering in 100 degree-plus heat.

"Stay cool!" Obama told reporters Friday night after returning from a trip to Colorado to inspect wildfire damage. "Drink a lot of water."

Absolutely disrespectful, indeed. Going to France on the 4th just to campaign and not celebrate with America who fought for their independence from tyranny and oppression. What Obama did was essentially walk all over the U.S. flag on the 4th and spit in the eyes the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
