Hi all

I'm new to this forum. I'm not deaf but my mum ( age 52) has been all her life. The problem shes having now is that she just cannot hear with her mobile phone. She needs to find a phone that will deliver clear crisp sound. i'm not sure if her hearing aids have a blue tooth setting or not. I think they might do they are digital.

Can anyone recomend?

I should point out that she lives in the middle east and so therefore going into a large store full of phones and manned by helpfull staff just isn't an option. In fact she won't go into any of the small phone shops here because A) they won't let her try the phones for sound and B) they are extremly rude to deaf people and treat them like they are stupid.

Shes been deaf since birth. Wears hearing aids in both ears and its mostly the base sounds that she has problems with.

i think shes pretty much given up hope on this. i havn't yet and want to find her a phone she can use. At the moment its got to the point where i have to make all her phone calls for her!

Thanks

I have hearing aids that is packed with bluetooth through the streamer.
oh everyone here thinks smartphones is useful 4 people like your mom since she's deaf like me
tried my cousin and aunt's smartphone, it looks so useful!

Is she able to text you ??? That could solve the problem and keep the cost of long distance calls down.

Maybe it's not the phone, maybe she needs stronger hearings aids?
When did she have hearing test done last time?

Fuzzy

I argee with audiofuzzy, I switched to another Oticon hearing aids during my sophmore year and they're fantastic!
if she has severe/profound, get her hooked with the Chilli/Safari adult verison since they're cool looking *I have a similar pair as U can see in the avvie*
