Whent to vr two days ago they said they would help with learing to sighn but if they do they won't help with geting me a job i have severe to profound hearing loss , so i see it going to take alot to getting back on my feet .. was sick for four years with something called myasthniea gravis spelling alittle off been studying computers on my own programing and things like that ..i have three kids they think there getting away with so much little do they know i a wonderful speech reader wiill try to post my hearing test soon don't know how yet ...learing wordpress right now maybe i can incorpate soon... if anyone know more about vr please let me know ....

VR really said that? If they help you learn sign, they won't help you get a job? Wow. Maybe they meant that they will help you get a job after you learn sign? Even if they meant that, I'm still a little shocked.

I don't know what languages you taught yourself but if you know enough code, maybe you could contribute to an open source code project at a place like SourceForge.net Maybe that will help you get a job.
 
will let you know how the next couple of weeks go i really don't hear well so maybe they said something els there going to give me a hearing worker.. i hope that person will work with me i really with there was someone who could right down everything she is saying so there for won't miss anything . you know i think i missed out alot.
 
Wow. One would think that the VR would be sensitive to the needs of people who are deaf. Would you feel comfortable asking your new contact person at the VR to type to you on the computer instead of speak until you know sign well?

Or do you have enough hearing that an FM system would help you? Oh, I think I just recalled that you said you will be getting new hearing aids soon? Maybe you will be able to hear your contact person after you get them.

In the meantime perhaps you can ask questions or ask for a summary of what your last contact said by e-mail letting them know that you think now that you didn't hear what they said because you didn't have your new hearing aids yet.

I realize I may be rambling ...
 
Okay so i have no speech discrimination i can read lips but when people are no from the country im loss and the hearring aids are only for like hearing loud things i think the door nocking and things like that i really need to learn sign or i will be lost..
