I brought a can of pumpkin to have on hands for Marty. The vet told me to give him some when he had trouble pooping. Not one store had canned pumpkin in the summer, as it is a seasonal food and only sold in the fall and winter.

Yep, canned pumpkin (not the spiced kind for pie, just regular canned pumpkin) is supposed to be good for CATS too. :) But none of my cats seem fond of it. :(

True. Just be very careful to avoid "pumpkin pie filling." Make sure the can is pure pumpkin ONLY, no added spices or sugar.

You can buy pumpkin in cans year round here, and our dogs don't mind eating it if it is mixed with something they really like.

I often have canned plain pumpkin available for canine digestive issues in general.
But if I find that I don't happen to have any, canned or frozen squash works the same way.

I also like to have a little canned pumpkin myself, for a special treat - add some cinnamon, nutmeg, agave syrup, maybe some soy whipped cream - gluten-free "pumpkin pie":giggle:

Ok, my dog is having pumpkin for dinner tmw night!
