This tasteless, stupid, insensitive comment made by Society's Child--on a deaf board no less--really has me upset: " Now my co-worker's radio is playing Billy Joel's "Piano Man"...god i wish i was deaf." (#15)

My last good ear blew out last Tuesday and suddenly I have been thrust into an utterly silent world that I have never known before. I'd give about anything to hear my wife's sweet, soft voice say "I love you", my parrot whistle GaGa's "Born This Way", an annoying train rumble thru town, and a thousand other sounds that I will most likely never hear again. And you flippantly say you wish you were deaf? Even in jest, this is not funny and I think you owe all the people here who are deaf or hoh an apology for your rudeness.

My son constantly plays all the music that sounds like crap to me when it is described. For that, I am truly thankful that I am deaf!!
 
My mom always say growing up my brother listen to music which sounds like nails being drilled in her ears. Ouch!!! I be glad be deaf, never have to hear that!

The song I just finished listening to was "I Love My Man" by Bent. Today's a downtempo kind of day so far.

I get his point though. After reading her comment I thought the same as Craig. :shock: it probably impacted certain people more than others. Me being deaf, I didnt care for her comment either.

I was actually referring to the heartbreak of the newly deaf poster. Me being deaf it offends me that it's considered such a tragedy.
