I think os illlegal on medical not allow drug bad heroin or something bad news!
I think so strict inspector something control!

I see this being appealed.

Absolutely see it happening, too.

An excerpt from the article link:

"Advocates for the medical use of the drug criticized the ruling but were elated that the Obama administration has finally acted, which allows them to appeal to the federal courts. "

Maybe we should start banning everything that does not have a medical use .... starting with popcorn.

How about we stick with the topic: marijuana?

Edit: I don't mean to sound sarcastic or bitchy. Just that there's a vast difference between marijuana and popcorn. Marijuana has been legalized in many states. I have a personal interest in this, even though I am not a marijuana smoker myself.

I was trying to be sarcastic. The article was attempting to criminalize marijuana because it has no medical purpose. I was just pointing out that there are a lot of things that have no medical purpose that are legal.

I don't smoke pot either.

Ok, I get your point.

That's what you think.

Kidding. I don't smoke. But mj is less harmful than stuffing your face full of fatty foods.

One thing that I am very disappointed about with Obama is his basic continuation of all of Bush's drug policies. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was just reading an article the other day that mentioned how Nixon's advisory panels recommended that Marijuana be left off the list of illegal drugs when he decided to "declare war" on drugs.

Many prominent conservatives are starting to get onboard with the legalization issue. Some people just don't understand that legalization of pot isn't the same as promoting or supporting its use.

Same here. I used to be pro drug war but now I have changed my mind. If pot becomes legal, I don't plan to take up smoking pot. I've smoked it exactly once in my life.

I actually hate the pothead culture. :/ And I hate that MMJ has become rather ridiculous in my town..."green" med places everywhere, and they sell pot brownies, pizza, pot cheesecake. You get the idea. Stoner's heaven.

Oh yeah, for sure. Me too. Potheads are so annoying and pathetic, but then, a lot of things annoy me (as if that isn't common knowledge here on AD, lol). Still, as long as they are halfway functioning and not hurting themselves or others, there's really no good reason to regulate it.

I don't mind regulating it to the 21 and above population. We do it with alcohol. *shrug*

But in regards to liberty, yeah, let freedom toke, I guess.

They are hurting themselves and others simply by the practice of inhaling smoke.

So people die for growing doobies.... and people who toke up support deaths.

Not my problem though.

The word I should have used was "prohibit." Sorry. Long day. I agree though, it should be regulated and taxed just as much as alcohol or any other "soft" drug.

...has no accepted medical use and should remain classified as a highly dangerous drug like heroin.
Keeps the DEA running. That's one good (or bad) part.
Another positive aspect, if it doesn't get banned, which it likely won't - this could put individual cases into the hands of the courts.

The pill form is only a Schedule III Narcotic. The plant for is a Schedule I, which classifies it as no accepted medical use.

Marinol Information from Drugs.com

I disagree with this, I think it should be a schedule II right along with Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is much more dangerous than Pot.
More people die from OD on codeine than pot.
